Dirt Rally. Steering wheel position G29 doesn't match with the wheel in game

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have just started yesterday Dirt Rally, Steam version. The games works good, but I noticed with the inside car view the G29 turn more than in game wheel. I mean if I turn of 90° for example the G29, in game the wheel is turned about 30-40°. Is that correct ? To have a move 1:1 I have to decrease to around 30% the steering saturation, but then the steering is too sensible.

Of course I have done the calibration, and if I test the G29 in the option it moves correctly refer to bars.

Any tips ?

Thank you
Matteo

You can switch off the drivers arms in options, then the in car wheel will be 1:1 with your G29, or you can switch off the in game wheel also.

Thank you Evilsmurf. About the rotation degree, do you suggest to keep 900° with G29 or decrese it by Logitech profiler ? I noticed that when I have to face very tight curves I struggle to quickly steer (I have to learn to use the handbrake of course)

Depends on personal choice. The game has a soft lock option that will allow the real world rotation for the car in question.

e.g If you switch on soft lock (and set the Logitech profiler to max wheel rotation) and use, say the Ford Fiesta, it will have 540° as it does IRL. If you then take out the Escort mkII, it will have 750° and so on for each car.

Personally, I used to set my profiler to 540° and use that for everything. I've now dropped that down to 400° and find it good enough to handle the tight turns but not so sensitive that I can't keep the car straight at high speed.

Do you have to do this in the Logitech Profiler or is there setting that I can adjust in game? What does "saturation" do? Probably silly questions, but if you don't know...you ask :-)

"Saturation" refers to how much actual input you have to put to reach 100% input in the game. For example with saturation at 50%, you only need to turn to half of the full rotation to reach opposite lock in-game. If you set it to over 100%, then even by going to opposite lock on your wheel, the game will not be able to reach full opposite lock. Generally speaking, it's best to leave it at 100% and set everything through other settings.

Thank you for the explanation. That makes perfect sense. Cheers!!
