Sorry, bad week last week.

To point you all in the right direction, il share a few tips...

Its a well known fact that every Impreza to ever roll off the production line, had chassis tuning biased toward mild understeer.  They knew that the guys buying them would generally be novice drivers & not have anywhere near the skill to handle the car like McRae/Burns etc, so the chassis was set for 'safe' road use.  Clever of the Codies guys to actually do the same!! :)

This could be dialled out, simply by fitting a larger REAR anti-rollbar which tightened the back end up, reduced rear tyre contact when cornering hard and let the car oversteer like it's meant to!!

In game, soften the front ARB a click or two and harden the rear up 3-4 clicks (or beyond), then set the diffs as you would for rear bias.  This will leave the Impreza nice & neutral with slight oversteer.  From there, you can play around with the suspension to suit.  Remember, front softer, & it will grip & control the car.  Rear harder, & it will slide out & make you smile loads!

Failing to adjust the chassis as above, but locking the rear diff up, believe it or not, induces more understeer, as the rear end power, pushes the nose around due to lack of front end grip.

Enjoy!

"set the diffs as you would for rear bias" ?

Do you mean, center diff stronger and rear diff stronger?

I fully lock the centre, with all or almost all of the bias to the rear, the rear diff is nearly fully locked, @15% less braking lock than the accel. value (to turn the car in off the power on corner entry) and front diff accel. lock of 30/35% lock but only 5% braking lock (again, to aid with initial turn in).

its pretty simply just lock up differentials to strongest setting.that is fine.

rest is decoration.

only car i would not do this with is the renault 5 turbo which drives better in my opinion with a loose diff.

That doesn't work in real life, or in the game fella.  Locked rear pushes the nose, unless you have plenty of  the old PC grip :p

My weapon of choice in Group-A is the Delta Integrale. It feels very natural for me.
I don't have problems with the engine sound: OK, the Subaru sounds more menacing but it's a generally low pitched sound way to the rpm range, the Integrale sound gives me more feedback about the actual rpm of the engine.

how can you say it doesnt work in real life or game ? i just been smashing times using that exact method. settings are personal tbh.some may want understeer some oversteer whatever suits their driving or car.

I tried this and it made the car feel worse. Not only was the understeer still there, but now the turn in was sluggish too. Then again it could just be my hatred for soft leany cars that plays a part. I'm going back to hard antirollbars front & rear and strongest possible rear diff to make it act at least somewhat to my liking.

Well it probably would to you Porkie.  Doesn't make it wrong though!  As we've discovered many times, what works for me, never works for you & vice versa.  At this stage though, I know why, & you know why.

Hopefully a few of the PC players & all the console guys will take the advice above &be pointed in a more fruitful direction

Enjoy  :)

Yeah sorry Kev if I wasn't clear about this, but it's not really the car, but rather my inability to adjust to cars that does not fit my driving style.

the toyota celica would have certainly crowned the group a goodness in this game, although the king was indeed the Delta
