Which Group A car would you buy?

Recommended Posts

So I need a Group A car, I have the funds but am a bit torn as which to choose. I'm tempted by the Delta or Impreza but would appreciate any insight from you guys. So which would you pick and why?

Ford Escort RS Cosworth
Subaru Impreza 1995
Lancia Delta HF Integrale

Cheers

Try them out in custom events.

My opinion:

Escort: most fun because loves sliding, but is slowest and sounds sh*t
Impreza: sounds awesome, easy to drive. Plus, Colin McRae.
Delta: I find it the fastest, but it's pretty nervous and difficult to control. Also doesn't sound good.

If you're relatively new to the game, I'd probably recommend the Impreza.

Thanks mate, I tried the Escort in a daily recently and it felt a bit numb with weird gearing. Will try the others in Custom Events  :)

I'd personally go for the Integrale as its handling is very intuitive. The Subaru can be made intuitive after a lot of tweaking to the setup, but default makes the car act very understeery and it would prefer not to do anything the driver is asking. The Escort is just broken. On gravel it has no suspension and appears to be down 50 hp compared to the other cars of its class, but on tarmac it is - strangely - very competitive. In fact, I almost scored a WR with it on a daily event... with default setup.

Well, Cossie doesn't disappoint in giving mindblows as always xD

So I tested the Lancia and Scobby and opted for the Scooby, mainly on the basis it felt more stable, easier to throw about a bit and it sounds awesome. Went into the Weekly challenge in Wales and finished top tier in the 1st 3 events (for now at least) Cheers for the help fellas  :)

I like the escort on tarmac and the integrale on gravel, subbie is just fine in both.
The fastest is the integrale and the escort in gravel is just a machine to crash, you Touch the side of the road and you will crash really bad

Scooby all the way! OK, so I'm a bit biased, but I find it the most fun Group A car to drive , it's one of the best sounding cars in the game and it's now in the proper period livery, so it looks good as well!

The Integrale is fast, but I do find it more skittish than the Impreza. I decided to use the Lancia for the current weekly as I wanted to unlock the modifications for it, but I regretted my decision a couple of stages in: should have stuck with the trusty Subaru!

I really like the EscCos, but it just doesn't feel on par with the Impreza or the Inter.

On gravel, the Cossie is my favourite of the class B)

i guess its what you want. if its overall fastest car the lancia is the one to buy. i like the subaru better but lancia is faster. the cossie just isnt right in game which is a shame as would drive it more if it was ok.

I went for the Integrale but didn't try the cars first. :)  It's a great car for tarmac indeed.

Eventually I'll have all cars anyway so it doesn't matter much which ones to buy first.  I went for looks. :)

Impreza is so much fun, you can be reasonably quick with a smile on your face, especially if you set it up right.

Integrale has unreal amounts of usable grip, you really need to dial in and push it hard.  Its pace, like the Polo, is on a different level

Update - just drove the 1995 Impreza for the daily event in Wales.  Maybe the track was not it's thing but I like the Lancia more to be honest, it feels more swift compared to the Subaru.  But the Subaru sure has very nice engine sound. :)

Lancia, it's fast, it has a bold design, and has an awesome sound, plus it's getting more valuable these days, the Stratos is already priceless, I can only imagine the Delta going about the same route in 20 years

How can you call that sad Toyota Yaris placeholder sound awesome? Here's what the Integrale sounds like:

Even when set up for full oversteer, the 95 Subaru understeers. I wish it wouldn't.
You are doing it wrong :)

There is only one way of setting the car up for full oversteer, can't be done wrong.

Unless you talk about the driving. Yeah, going slowly lets you throw it around. On the limit, nope. Give it a shot.

Basically anything that says "may cause understeer" is set fully in the opposite direction; weak front diff, strong rear diff - torque bias fully rearwards etc. Pretty self explanatory?
