There have been too mutch problems with the update 1.1 like blhampel said.

But one important is the Ground Cover Option, that only seet it to off, resolve huge fps drops and when it enabled, the game dont flow normal.
Everybody in the internet are speaking about this problem. With it enabled the game stops to flow sometimes and slows. Is like a slow motion. Its hard too say too me because of my english. One stage that this happen a lot is Germany.

Hope you can fix this, because its the best rally game too date. Keep pushing!!!

Best regards!

I've been having the same issues in Germany and the Rallycross tracks. I found that turning the Particles to Low or Off  helps but I haven't tried turning off the ground cover, so I'll give that a try as well.

EDIT: I've ran a benchmark test on Medium settings and got a steady 60FPS with V-Sync on. But if I were to run with Medium settings in Germany or Rallycross, I get a lot of frame rate issues dipping below 50FPS.
I run a test and with ground cover on ( LOW) i have drops of 30 FPS. The game dont flow in that drops. Then when go back to 60 FPS (V-Sync on) or 58 FPS the game flows normally. I will test with the particles off.
I turned the Ground Cover and Particles off and it has solved the issue in Germany but I still get some stuttering in the Rallycross track. I have to change the graphics preset to Ultra Low in order to have a smooth frame rate in the Rallycross tracks.
I dont play Rallycross. But yes, only with Ground cover off the game runs fine. Hope they fix this problems.
I think I'll just stay away from Rallycross for now. At least until it is optimised (if it happens).

@ChristinaMc Would it be possible to have a change log for the update in a form similar to this (by that I also mean all changes being included, not only few)? It's rather annoying not having all the changes listed and then figuring out if they have been or not. Also, some fixes sometimes... don't really fix the issues, so there are only positives coming from listing all the changes.

Hi all,

I know a lot of you are waiting for the PC patch to be released, and I just wanted to say thanks for your patience while we work on this. Just to give you an update: while we still have a little more work to do, we've managed to fix quite a few of the big issues you've raised - and we're confident that the next patch will fix the following on PC:

-Motion blur being applied to cars in bonnet camera and in replays (PC only)
-Excessive knocking effect on steering wheels when playing rallycross
-AI for Classic and S1600 Rallycross adjusted to have more variety
-Leaderboards will no longer be blank and the difference column works
-Fixes for rain effects displaying incorrectly on some AMD cards (PC only)
-Rain causing bad reflections on some windscreens

We're also hoping to have a fix for RaceNet's connectivity issues as soon as possible, and this will come before the patch (and hopefully very soon). More on that as it comes, but as soon as I have information for when the patch will be released, I'll share that with you ASAP.

EDIT: we pushed out a RaceNet fix yesterday evening - if your connectivity issues have been fixed/still persist, please let me know so I can feed it back!

EDIT 2: it looks as though including the Oculus 1.3 update may hold this patch back, so we've removed it from this one so we can push it out more promptly. However, it will be coming in a a subsequent patch, which should arrive soon after. The support will still be there, but it will come just a little bit later.
(This tends to be why we don't discuss patch notes in too much detail before we push it live - as we can't guarantee which will be included, until it's in!)
Hello,  I haven't played in 3 weeks and really want to play but will not until the patch comes out.
Is there any news on when the patch will be released?

I make no promises, but I'll speak to the devs and see if they're OK to share this info when the patch goes live. For one reason or another, they might not be - but it's worth me asking!

I guess I'm one of the lucky 5-10% then, as I don't seem to have any framerate issues :)

What operating system are you using? You have a good CPU. I have a old AMD Phenom X4 810. And the version of dirt rally you are using is V1.1?
I had to return to V1.0 because in V1.1 shadows looks like blocks., only in ultra this dont happen.

Just a few examples.  I dont understand. Its not only the drop of fps...the game dont flow correctly. There are little freezing moments in the same part of the stages.

Windows 10 and latest version of DiRT Rally. I have seen those little freezing moments on specific parts of certain tracks, but that's not framerate related (at least the ones I've observed), It's more like the camera jitters for a split-second, but the game runs just as smooth as it did. This usually happens in one of the Monte Carlo stages and some others. I'll see if I can record that

I think I'm sure what causes these jitters and slowdowns. At montecarlo it is vsync (for me only at upper side of vallee descendace there is constant 20fps drop that last one kilometer). Without vsync there is only fps drop, no slowdowns and jitters. At Finland stages there is slowdowns because crowd reacts your driving when you drive very near of crowd. This happens for me usually near yellow-house-jump when I land near of crowd. One second slowdown and massive population is reacting for my car. This all could be old CPU problem.

I will try to turn off the vsync. But yes my CPU its very old. At this moment i dont have money to buy a new one. But if dont happen nothing bad its my next upgrade.

In this forums that i have post people with I5 and I7 with Nvidia GTX 770 and 970 have this problems too...dont know.
But i will try to turn off vsync.

Now this is getting funny.... 970, problems on DR.

Of course is your CPU, your a appreciation is just a vain effort of the CPU trying to process the stuff... and generating bottlenecks with its irregular framerates.

When it comes to stuttering, everything can be an issue. Badly installed drivers, some other process hugging the CPU, a bit too aggressive anti-virus, downloading something (we all know what), an overlay software (if I install EVGA Precision X, every application stutters for me)... heck, even an SSD that just has some issues with other piece of hardware, such as mouse can create stuttering. It's such a vague problem it's effectively impossible to get rid of in every case for PC.

You could try defragmenting your HDD, that could help. If you have an SSD, don't think about defragmenting it, cause you can permanently damage it that way, or simply drastically reduce its life span.

In short, it's not one specific part that is an issue, it's the combination of them.

You dont read the things dont you? "I can run dirt rally on the highest setting with ground cover off without having any FPS problems! As soon as i put ground cover on any settin the FPS drops to a unplayable state!!! Anyone got any information on this? My SPEC'S are GTX 970, FX8350, 8GB ram! "

You are right. I can't do a clean install of windows now...but i will try windows 10 next month is the problem pressists after the patch.

But thank you for your support!!! I will try do defragmenting my HDD. Thanks!!!
