That was fantastic! Best race this year :D Gutted that Pedrosa or Rossi didn't win though, far as I'm concerned Marquez wasn't quite as good as them today, his passes were just forcing his way in, while Rossi and Pedrosa passed with style and didn't mess up the rider ahead.

Exactly. It's one of the things I really dislike about Marquez.

A great race no matter what, I just think Rossi or Pedrosa should really have won it. Glad that Marquez isn't just running away into the lead now at least.

In mixed conditions Espargaro (Aleix) on pole, Honda 2-3, Lorenzo 9th, Rossi 12th! The first 2 laps of qualifying were great, the rest meh...

I'm gonna sound like a douche when I say this, because I have been told the answer to this question before but I can't remember. 

Why does the qualifying at Assen always happen on a Friday instead? Is it like a big rest day on Saturday or something?

It's to do with church lol. At the old circuit they used for the Dutch TT, there was a church near the start line.The town council decided that they didn't want a situation where people who wanted to go to church on the Sunday couldn't because of the race being on and the roads being closed. So they moved the race to Saturday and Qualifying is on the Friday of course.

They've moved circuit since then, but the tradition stuck for MotoGP. Every other racing series has their races on a Sunday :p
