¿How the pacenotes were created in DiRT Rally?

I want to know which system was used in order to replicate it for my rally debut this weekend, it was used the tapes in the steering wheel? Or just measured in satellite images

Think it's based on steering wheel tapes. Kind of similar to what Paddon shows here;
