My guess is the official announcment will be Friday and maybe some gameplay, because with it being Monaco and all they could maybe organise an event on the Friday and get the drivers and stuff to play it ...

Once again, instead of getting CodeMasters news straight from CodeMasters after months of CodeMasters saying they'll share info with us "soon," CodeMasters gives info to the media without mentioning a word of it directly to their community on CodeMasters' own forum or on their own social media outlets.

What happened to "we're looking to involve and engage you all on a level we haven't done before?"

"Massive step forward for the franchise?" What new features does this "announcement" confirm that hadn't already previously been confirmed & that hadn't already been part of prior games in the series in some form or another? "Stunning hospitality areas?"

They might as well have "released an announcement" saying : "We are pleased to announce that CodeMasters is working on another F1 game in the annual series. Today we officially reveal that the game will be called 'F1 2016.' We are especially proud to say that the game will include cars. As a bonus to our dedicated fans, you will also find tracks in the game. In addition, as part of the huge steps forward we're taking this year, players with speakers or headsets will be able to hear audio as well."

"...OMG!! I'm so hyped!!! I can hardly believe it's actually happening! Thank you so much CodeMasters! I must now pre-order all the copies & schedule time off from work on launch day!"

I don't know he's name but the guy in the hass motor home looks like the team principal not gene hass so this means we will have toto and Christian etc this game looks epic so hyped

This guy does make a very valid point. I wait for E3 for more to be revealed happy there's a safety car and career mode but still this was something taken out only to be replaced again. There's so many unanswered questions about actual new features. I give them credit for the VSC where is due good job ;) . I would like to know personally if the safety car is more refined or finally we might get red flags for extreme weather we have stormy weather since 2015 it would make sense to look into different variables. To take a risk and give us something we haven't had before in the codemasters series of games. I can give a few examples Formation lap, Races starts from the pitlane, 22 online Multiplayer grid, Pitlane control Marbles off the racing line all that stuff. In the end I remain conflicted between excitement and disappointment by wanting a stable game but at the same time hoping for actual new features. For such a small developer that they are I'II give them credit for all the work they have done so far. It's by no means a small feat.

The first things that are revealed sounds very nice! The only two things i hope it will have is a online co up career and that the game release very soon ;)

And the guessing starts all over again. Nothing has been revealed we didn't know already. The exsistence of a career and safety car were pretty obvious. New livery too so what did the article reveal we didn't know. Getting kind of bored with the all wishlists and other posts that make me anxious, to be dissapointed later on. I definitly won't by the game if the trees don't look good...

Well might be yet too soon to say but it definitely looks better than F1 2015 judging by the features mentioned and that Haas crew picture makes me wonder what Career Mode we'll have this time!

yeah usually everything is usually taken from Melbourne including driver lineups. So I'd asy Dani would be most likely be at Red Bull and Max at Torro Rosso whether CM change this later on via a patch I don't know but that's what I'd expect.

Regarding the Red Bull driver lineup, I would actually be a bit more surprised if Max wasn't in the Red Bull. The reason mid season swaps weren't done before would have been down to getting the drivers licensed for use I imagine (Senna and Ricciardo in 2011 for example). That's not the case this year, both Max and Dani are already licensed in the game.

Looks like they're going back to live the life in career mode and by the sounds of it we'll actually see some proper R&D. Things I've personally been waiting for so so far so good.

Yes, it's a bit painful. But reading this article, there was a lot they could have teased. Release a small bit of information every few weeks, keeping the hype up. Now they've waited way too long and as a result, they've now lost control over what content is getting out in the press.
