Introducing F1™ 2016

Recommended Posts

Just the beta alone was about 25 and it had less than half of the features just quick and time trial race and no saftey car or formation lap ( I combined Beta 2 with Beta 3, Beta 2 time trial Beta 3 quick race)

Ok. But that's a huge game. Not one of the f1 games costs 40-60GB. When I had the beta .....

It should be around 40-60GB

YOU ARE KIDDING ??? :p  Hahaha ,i can't believe that it's around 40-60GB . Wow ,maybe it sounds to good for me :)
It sounds big indeed. Even Gta V is not 60GB

Well . And it's a F1 game ... not Thw Witcher 3 or something else. :)

There's a fair chance it still had a lot of the full game in there, though, just not accessible to us.

Quite possible as the Beta 3 update was worth 15GB which is quite big for just Quick race. Still I reckon it'll be around 40-60GB maybe 35 at the least.

@Britpoint  Will the Xbox version require Kinect again for voice commands? It's odd that the PS4 seems better set up for voice commands than the Xbox. This is why I'll most likely get the PS4 version.

Yes it will need kinect if not manually selecting.

There is quite likely to be a future update  to use your headset mic like Cortana, if it is fairly simple to implement.

I wonder why it's nit possible to do it without Kinect.

You think it'll be possible in the future?

Needs an 'always on' voice recognition program (I don't know how else to explain it) which Kinect is.

With new Dashboard update adding Cortana and with it being linked to Win10 we can use the mic to give commands to the Xbox which I think is similar to how Codies implemented the feature in F1 2015 on the PC. So it would make sense they will enable this feature for developers to allow us to give commands in game without Kinect. Hopefully it can be added with a patch rather than having to wait until '17. I haven't had my Kinect connected since about a week after I got the Xbox, was screwing with pCars :(

Currently Kinect is still required on the Xbox side of things. We don't know exactly what Cortana means for games like us yet; if we can utilise it and how simple it is to do so. We will be looking at it of course, but for the time being voice commands on the Xbox One will still be Kinect only.

Because until very recently, the only native APIs that Microsoft provided for voice recognition were the Kinect APIs. So Xbox developers either had to use those, or write their own voice recognition code... not impossible, but a pretty big task.

Presumably there are now Cortana APIs that don't require Kinect, which they might be able to use instead. But that will likely depend on whether those APIs have been designed and optimised to be used in games, or whether they're really just for doing stuff on the dashboard.

Please, Codemasters, put the possibility of On/Off the Lights (of HUD) when Race Start, leaving just the Lights of environment.

Is there going to be any vr support have not seen anything about it

I don't think so. When they would do it ,than it would take some time .Maybe they will do it ,but maybe some months later . In Project Cars there was no VR ,but then they updated it . But one question! Why do you need VR? I don't think it's good for your eyes.

@Seriously  which format have you been playing the game on?
I'm playing every game on FullHD ,so 1920x1080. Why are you asking ?
I wondered if you'd been playing on PC and noticed the 'flashing' rain spray that was in last years game and something I noticed in the recent Inside Sim Racing 'first look' video for F1 2016 (again PC).

thanks.

Great job Codemasters! I'm loving the game so far. The new features are great and the Handling is very fun to drive. I'm playing on Hard Difficulty as a Ferrari Driver and I'm having a blast doing the R&D upgrading my car so I can catch Mercedes in the Race. Its just awesome! :)

Is there possible to get infobox (where you can change example fuel mode) bigger? Sometimes is hard to see those text.

Great racing game! really enjoying it. Started a new career as an 'expert level' Manor driver and keeps me racing for hours and hours. Every moment is enjoyable. A lot of fun in R&D, practicing, quali and eventually racing. And in between some time trials. Excitement at the Max.
