Recommended Posts

Why on the cover they use two drivers for mercedes and red bull? Why not just one driver per team?

Welp, now I am hyped to play 2015 for some reason :D Anyone ??

indeed I'm in a bit of a moto rracing mood now first time in ages almost at theend of my current Dragon Age run anyway so I might pracingick up my F1 careers I have on the go and continue them once I'm done.
Dragon age and Fallout are keeping me from my racing. Tragic, really.

Not so much for me DA is one of my favourite series but then that's why I love Bioware's games because they make gamesthat I feel that aer worth playing as I love the Mass Effect series as well.
But as Cassandra might say "I'm playing the "£$! out of this"

I'm surprised Button and Alonso aren't on the cover instead of Grosjean and Perez since they're far more well known and marketable. but that being said, it's just a cover so it doesn't matter.
Impressed so far. I'm liking the sound of this career mode. It sounds exactly like what I've been hoping for for a long time. Just hope you can do the same in standard season as well. Would love to develop the Mclaren with Button alongside Alonso.

Quite excited to read this announcement. It's been a long time coming. The new career setup seems very interesting with the 10 seasons and r and d. I was wondering what happens when you race 6 seasons for Manor and build them up to a mid field team, then you sign with Mercedes. Does Manor still perform as a midfield team in your 7,8,9,10th season or do they fall back to the back of the field?

That's really what I'm wondering too do the teams shift around or is the game reset after each season becvause in the earlier CM career modes the teams shift around from season to season because in the earlier games I've had races wghen in the following season or so after leaving them I've had the Caterhams and Marrussia's and that preform well and I've even had to fight them on the odd occasion too. Not that I mind it because it's fun but still it shakes the order up and having that happen makes games and careers where this happens worth playing more than once, because you never know what will happen next.

Yeah it is impressive the kind of career mode it seems we should have had right at the beginning as it sounds like it might just beat even 2010 in terms of scope and effort. But we'll only find out whether it does when the game releases If it delivers on what it promises it could very well be CM's best ever F1 game.

Can someone explain this "F1 2016’s new career mode spans 10 seasons and will take you deeper into the world’s most glamorous, exciting and prestigious motorsport...." When we say 10 seasons, are we saying the game takes us all to way back to the 2007 season to present? Now that would be rad indeed !

I just watched Aarava's video. Team performance upgrades carry over from season to season so you can get a Manor to the level of Mercedes.  However, I still can't find anything on the net about what happens to the team performance after you leave the team.

Great news. The game sounds like it's going to be awesome. @jennyannem - Is the new tire system going to be implemented into the game, or can you not say ?

I would imagine it'll be 2016's tracks 10 times in a sense much like the earlier games  because that would mean CM would likely have to license the extra tracks  that aren't on the calendar anymore if they were to do more. Granted it would be nice but I think career mod essentially means racing the 2016 calendar 10 times. Just upgrading your car and abilities and such t osuit your style as you go. You will have the option to move from one team to another at various points for a new challenge and such. But again you get to pick and choose. The only thing you have full control over at the start of career is your race number and your starting team. After that it's just a case of seeing if you can impress people and convince them that you want to race for them then that's up to you to decide.

I recommend you try playing one of the 2010-2014 games then you'll get an idea of what career mode is all about. I would suggest going and trying F1 2010 as it sounds like it's going to be more like that one than the one on the slightly newer games.

Yeah 2010 or 2011. 2012 and on were the same pretty much with the career. 2010 and 2011 actually made you feel like it was a career. 2011's menus even reflected whatever team you were with, which is why 2011 is my favourite career. Sounds like 2016 will do the same with the interactive hub stuff.

That's why I suggested 2010 over the others because that I think was slightly better than 2011 graphics wise it looked a bit cartoony for me and the AI weren't that great. As they were perhaps a little sluggish difficulty wise too in places. Although I'd say I enjoy 2012 almost equally as much as 2010 that's probably down to it having the best AI for me but not necessarily the best career mode.

Which means their image rights would probably have cost a lot more to license...

But presumably the main reason for Grosjean and Perez is to appeal to North and South American audiences, respectively.

Thank you!!! Again: Thank you!!!!!!

I'm so happy to see you Codemasters is bringing back career and upgrades. This will improve the game so much of for me. The last 2 years i have not pre ordered the game because 2014 was not PS4 and 2015 because it lacked career. This time I will pre order again!!

Curious if they improved the damage this time. I want to see some carbon fiber shattering car crashes! :)
