Introducing F1™ 2016

Recommended Posts

Can someone explain this "F1 2016’s new career mode spans 10 seasons and will take you deeper into the world’s most glamorous, exciting and prestigious motorsport...." When we say 10 seasons, are we saying the game takes us all to way back to the 2007 season to present? Now that would be rad indeed !

I would imagine it'll be 2016's tracks 10 times in a sense much like the earlier games  because that would mean CM would likely have to license the extra tracks  that aren't on the calendar anymore if they were to do more. Granted it would be nice but I think career mod essentially means racing the 2016 calendar 10 times. Just upgrading your car and abilities and such t osuit your style as you go. You will have the option to move from one team to another at various points for a new challenge and such. But again you get to pick and choose. The only thing you have full control over at the start of career is your race number and your starting team. After that it's just a case of seeing if you can impress people and convince them that you want to race for them then that's up to you to decide.

I recommend you try playing one of the 2010-2014 games then you'll get an idea of what career mode is all about. I would suggest going and trying F1 2010 as it sounds like it's going to be more like that one than the one on the slightly newer games.

Why would it be 10 of the same season, and since this is a new platform game, why can't it be 10 seasons starting with 2007 ? If this is the case we should see some amazing circuits introduced to the game.  that would give us tracks like:

Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Circuit de Nevers
Istanbul Park
Fuji Speedway
Valencia Street Circuit
Korea International Circuit
Buddh International Circuit
Baku City Circuit

Because it costs extra money to produce these extra tracks because they have to be licensed because the game is only authorized to carry tracks used in the current season which is 2016 which means they're only authorised to put and use tracks being used this year. Any extras they have to pay for. I'm not against wanting more tracks to race as it would be interesting and in fact I like the idea but it's not going to happen.

Do you think they'll have the same rules as the real F1 where if you get into Q3 you start on the tire you set your fastest lap in Q2 ? I forgot all about that rule.

This was in F1 2015, I'd be surprised if it wasn't in F1 2016

For the love of god, please have support for "Thrustmaster GPX LightBack Xbox 360 Controller" or just "GPX Gamepad" like it says in your game when I start it "This game doesn´t support GPX Gamepad" , why would all the other games have no problems with it and then F1 2015 does, makes no sense at all .... all your games have had support for it, no problems at all.... then F1 2015 came out and I was never able to use my controller, never understood what that was about.

Thanks

Why should it cost extra to carry more tracks when this is a collobrative effort and with the FIA and F1 teams and the circuits in question are no longer on the F1 calendar, is all I'm saying. The FIA should be throwing in this stuff for free to enhance fan experience!

other teams cars upgrade too :)

For example Mercedes at the top can improve but theres less scope to improve compared to a slower team like Manor :)

Oh I love the attention to detail! Last year's Ferrari with this year's paint job... well done. And the Manor car with a new design feature of suspension arms connected directly to the rubber... ingenious! Not to mention the two V shaped sticks attached to the sidepods on the Manor... beautiful! Only took less than 2sec to notice those gems.
So with that in mind, have you guys (CM) actually remembered that grass and dirt is slower than the black stuff called tarmac? Or my personal favourite, that full weekend weather forecasts are actually important to know at the beginning of a race weekend?
I'm already filled with enthusiasm about the wonderful crew who are "avoid F1 fans" who can't even get release images that reflect F1 right.
So excited...

Because wages need to be paid it's called business and nobody on this planet does anything unless there is something in it for them. It's just the way the world works these days. Also the FIA don't own the tracks it's kind of leased to them for that day for that race on their calendar. Other people own them. For example I believe Silverstone is owned I believe by an organisation called the BRDC (British Racing Drivers Club) I believe. You may not like it but it doesn't change the fact that's how it works. Besides what with this year being 21 races it's going to take quite some time just  to do one season anyway let alone 10.

That's precisely why, I'd imagine. If they're not part of the F1 calendar any more, FOM have no rights to pass on to Codemasters, so Codemasters would have to go and do a separate licensing deal with each circuit directly.

If you took so much care into looking at those pictures, you would have noticed it says it isnt the final product yet...

As for all your other complaints, only time will tell

Yes that too I'd imagine.

I'm so excited! That Toro Rosso skin looks absolutely amazing and the Haas hospitality center looks like the beginning of a new era for F1 games.

Sounds great. Can´t wait to play carreer mode. I didn´t think that it would ever be possible to have an own number and own  name in the game. And free driving behind the safety car ? I think you guys really start to recognize what we want. If it is ever possible please make one game that  includes 2009-2016 seasons
