Do we actually know a release date for this game and how much it will cost in the UK

Release date no other than it'll be at some point during the summer as for cost about the same as any other new game I'd guess

All these aer just place holder dates CM haven't come out and given us a concrete one yet. Although I agree that July/August is the most likely atm.

Oh I love the attention to detail! Last year's Ferrari with this year's paint job... well done. And the Manor car with a new design feature of suspension arms connected directly to the rubber... ingenious! Not to mention the two V shaped sticks attached to the sidepods on the Manor... beautiful! Only took less than 2sec to notice those gems.
So with that in mind, have you guys (CM) actually remembered that grass and dirt is slower than the black stuff called tarmac? Or my personal favourite, that full weekend weather forecasts are actually important to know at the beginning of a race weekend?
I'm already filled with enthusiasm about the wonderful crew who are "avoid F1 fans" who can't even get release images that reflect F1 right.
So excited...
If you took so much care into looking at those pictures, you would have noticed it says it isnt the final product yet...

As for all your other complaints, only time will tell
Did you not read the bit that says "Only took less than 2sec to notice those gems."

Yes it's not the final product, your 100% correct, however if I was wanting to release something to a world wide audience I would at the very least make sure I chose the best and most accurate ones...

Clearly not.

It's "avid f1 fans", ironic your own post doesn't get the details right either
Really inspirational post mate. Clearly you have never had predictive text make a change to what you intended to say and not notice... ever. I'm so in awe.

Thank you :-) Just keep trying, it takes practice and time, but you'll get there.

A good base to start with. We've all had the big promises in the past and seen the game with problems and falling short of expectations.

This does have a different feel already. The survey, the closed beta. Very different to before. If this is being transferred into the game itself we could be onto a winner. Yes there will be bugs but it's how they are dealt with can make the difference.

I dont expect a huge jump in graphics. Yes the communication is a little lacking right now but I do believe the team are tied to what they can/can't release.

Roll on the next piece of info.

I might be hyped if I see parade lap talk, telemetry, cool down laps, working cranes, interviews, classic content, better customer relations and communication from Codemasters . features and simple work ethics and practices a large number of people have been asking for over 3 years now. To me right now F1 2016 looks like what F1 2015 should have been like in the first place.  There is nothing new. The One new feature is the timer of day editor. WOW great.

I never had faith with F1 2016 even with all the so called "special testing" Bring people in to test it.... nothing but a marketing gimmick.. been done before in the Steve Hood era, We still got a buggy incomplete game.

Codies:Here take this game its called F1 2016... all the features we took away over the years on purpose to make you miss them are back a little enhanced!!!... yet we will still continue to avoid all the NEW features you all have been asking for.
Me: Great! Nothing new. The tear stained mattress hidden in the back as always. Another pass for me. Not at all hyped.

I also need to see how well the features work... how buggy the game will be, how well the safety car will work, how to car handles, track life which was terrible in F1 2015... camera men, spectators, track marshals, mechanics ect looked like drugged zombies standing doing the same thing.  Not a single chance I'm going to pre order this after the F1 2015 disaster.

I also need to see what they plan to do about the bugs.... or will we get the same old speech? sorry working on F1 2017!

He says there are 5 things you can upgrade and there are 5 tiers so that means there are only 25 upgrades you can do, thats only 2 or 3 a year? a bit to less imo

Yeah I think it'll depend on how and what you choose to upgrade because  you have to earn the upgrade points. You're only likely to be able to do so much in terms of upgrades and the bigger the upgrade the more expensive it is so you'll likely need quite a few points to get the later ones. It's also unlikely you'll get them across the whole season and I suspect the whole upgrade system will reset at the start of each new season just like it does in the old career mode. I think that's basically what he's trying to say. Not so much 2 or 3 a year but I think it's just 5 tiers of upgrades for each area of the car per season

I think each upgrade path gets more expensive the further you go into it, so early on you'll be able to implement quite a lot of the first upgrades in each tier but as time goes on they will become less frequent because they require a lot more upgrade points.  I don't think they get reset after a season finishes otherwise you'd get no where near the top upgrades.

I believe that to be correct but will caveat it as I never finished a season during the testing as our builds were updated each day...

Hmmm....no engine blow ups?  So does that mean there is once again no engine damage, no transmission damage? C'mon CM.

Oh right I just thought that's how it might work as that's how it worked on F1 2010-12, in that each season the upgrades reset at the end and just the running order changed to reflect how teams did or didn't do in each season to add a bit of randomness to the game.

Obviously yeah the moer you upgrade one area of your car the moer you'd have to spend for each upgrade I pretty much gathered that. It's moer how the upgrades work as you move from season to season that I don't think is exactly clear yet. But I was just saying that's how it worked on the earlier games so wouldn't be surprised if CM returned to this for 2016 seeing as it worked quite well in 2010-12 I thought.

Would be nice to have someone explain how the upgrade system works though in terms of the game and career mode to make it a bit clearer for us. But I was just saying that's how it worked before so I assumed CM would go for this again. Maybe @jennyannem or @Britpoint can clarify how the upgrade system works

You may well indeed be correct, it's just my impression and assumption of how it was going to work, the career mode was something we provided quite a lot of feedback so it may well have evolved since we played it.

A factor also is maybe the damage model has been altered Ben said it in his video but also said he couldn't give exact details so I guess that could delay it too, it could be easier to make a mistake and crash out and ruin your session.

Yeah it just seems to me that keeping the upgrades in would make it too easy to earn them all without resetting because I think if there are 5 tiers and 5 areas of the car we can upgrade thereby making 25 upgrades in all given we have 10 seasons to work on earning them all (if this is how it's set up) I think that would be too easy to accomplish. Obviously that also depends on the tasks you have to do in order to earn them as well though.  But with the reset like the older games had in them you'd have to pick and choose what suits your driving style most because you won't have time to earn them all. Whether you want a better aero package or a better engine or whatever. Rather than just try to earn everything that's there which as I said would be pretty easy as I suspect most would likely be able to do that within 2/3 seasons without the reset they wouldn't need all 10. Like I said though would be nice to have someone explain a little how the upgrades will work.

Because as I said it might also depend on the tasks in that some may take over multiple race weekends to accomplish. Like for example a task might be finish on the podium in the next 3 races or something. I'm not saying that is the case I'm just saying it's a possibility and as an example as I have no idea what tasks are going to pop up. I remember on 2012 though there were tasks where you had to stay within a certain distance of the racing line for a lap or 3 laps or something I think to earn an upgrade on that game so I wouldn't be surprised to see something like this again either. We'll either have to wait till the game comes out so we can explore or see if someone explains it
