But this closed beta isn't just so that you can show off you played it first, but to really support the developer with the game, so reporting bugs and glitches, tell what setups you use, test the setups, how the assists work (or not) etcetera. The closed beta isn't just for fun, it is quite an important 'job', because not only you will play this game, hundreds of thousands will play this game too this summer. I don't say I don't want to play it, in contrast even, but I see the closed beta as quite important.

I Agree with 100% it is a big job. I have no intention of boasting i played it first, My intentions of testing the beta are to give every bit of information i can to assists game developers Codemasters to develop what could be the best F1 game to date. I'm sure you and everyone on this forum would like do the same

Aha okay, I just told it because your reaction left room open for other interpretations, because you only told about being eager so I thought that you just wanted to play it before it comes out. So if you get a code, you'll know what to do ;)

I hope whoever gets the codes, whether its me or not, can correctly report the right information and not just get carried away with being able to play it

That's is what this whole closed beta is about right? ;) I just don't hope that the kind of people who just do it to show off get a code, that would be a missed opportunity.

Unfortunately many people who signed up don't understand this and are just desperate to play the game which is a real shame because this is the only opportunity we get to have some say at what goes into this game. Someone said they only signed up because they couldn't afford the game others signed up twice to give themselves a better chance but if they get chosen twice then that's a space wasted also if there applying twice their obviously just desperate to play so that could be two places wasted. But this will always happen if you open a closed Beta to the public because not everyone takes it seriously. I'm not saying not everyone should have applied but if you did apply and you got in then please don't waste a valuable spot.

Perhaps that's why they wanted forum usernames in the application. It helps to see who's serious about it.

But yes, it isn't "try out the new game before it's out". We were asked to test the game because they want the community's input on the handling model, whether ridiculous setups can be made and abused, and it also helps if you'd let them know of any glitches/bugs you come across.

Perhaps some should've read into it further before clogging up Codemasters' emails with 50,000 BETA sign ups.

Indeed, I'm more afraid that people who don't see it as a chance to improve the game get a code than that I don't get a code. I just want that only the people who will give good feedback and test all of the game and report all bugs etcetera get a code, not someone who can't afford the game (really?) or who are desperate to play the game early (double really?). Now it's just waiting and hoping for the best..

I don't want to be negative but I can see a few people who get the beta who don't report any problems.

I can see that happening.......

i think codies will check the players who they want to give some codes. Think they only pick the serious players

Hopefully, they ban the people who don't give any comments

They can't ban them, but those people would probably be unlikely to get to BETA test 2017 lol.

Hopefully whoever gets the codes can realise that they have a job to do and can give good professional feedback

I think it's difficult to filter players based on predicted feedback. I'm happy though that the beta doesn't appear to have spread like wild fire and active community players were probably among the first the sign up.

We'll see. I do know that if I get selected I'll try a lot of different setups and driving styles to get them as much data as I can.
