F1 2016 VR-Compatible?!

Recommended Posts

I am a little surprised no one is talking about the possibility to play F1 2016 with VR.
I know sony is coming with the PS4.5 (4k) and it would be absolutely amazing to play with VR in 4k. I do not have the intension to buy the package but if F1 2016 is VR compatible it is a insta-buy for me!
Does anyone have some info or rumours?

I ask the question about vr a few weeks ago wen I realised Sony are making a vr headset for ps4 which is being released in October, my question was more about people that have used vr for racing games and what the experiance was like as I have never used vr before and after searching on you tube and the reaction from the people that have and how amazing it was its something I'm really excited about, I just hope f1 2016 will support it but think it will be to early to get an answer from codemaster or maybe the game will come out a bit to early before the vr headset for it to be supported, if I was to guess I think it will be f1 2017 before it will be available for vr but fingers crossed 2016 might. i think its not to early to say, if they implement it in the game they have already made it. If you implement VR in a game you will have to know it up front before you develop the game (or right after starting)
Maybe we learn more from the E3 launch

the cockpit views in the past games isn't anywhere near correct enough to use that. Maybe they are better for this game but we will see. What you would see is you bending over reaching down in the car to hold the wheel. You know how in F1 2015 it felt like you was driving a extra small clown car that you were way to tall for?  that would be magnified X 2. Then if the camera shake that vibrated the whole time the car was moving was carried over to this game then that would be horrible experience to try to play that with VR.

Don't expect it for 2016 but personally I  do expect it for 2017 but I already noticed Codemasters is slow to jump new bandwagons so I doubt it will actually be there in 2017

I would love to see an F1 game support VR, but 4k isn't necessary as the PSVR and other headsets don't have a 4k display!

Recently got my Rift and the immersion you get is incredible in games like PCars and AC. They did have Rift support for Dirt but removed it. Theres a Tweet from Inside Sim Racing saying its coming back to Dirt Rally,

I doubt it will be in F1 2016, possibly 2017. Theres no way i can play racing games now on a monitor after using the Rift. I'd be supprised but if they add Rift support for this game it will be a day 1 purchase for me.

Same here.  With VR support F1 2016 becomes an instant buy for me,  without VR i'm totally not interested in the game at all.

The Neo will not support 4k rendering for games. Only 4k media. Do your research before making statements.
Yes it will, that's the point of the Neo..do your research ;)

I know right, it was very obvious what you meant, that you can use 4k displays, and you didn't even imply that gaming will be in 4k. Just ignore the retard.

For me codemasters have no excuse. No VR no purchase for me!!!!!
First of all there are much bigger companies, EA, Activision, Bethesda who haven't delved into VR yet you think a small group in Birmingham will, secondly VR is still not widely supported, ad the only games seem to be very small scale arcade games, not fully fledged triple A titles

I was more keen on PS4 support for F1 2014 than for VR compatibility for F1 2016. VR still needs to proof it's worth my money.

I really want PSVR for F1 2016 on my PS4. However I'm not sure if it has the grunt / whether the visual downgrade to make F1 2016 work would make the game unplayable.

Has anyone tried driveclub on PSVR? How much was the game visually downgraded to work on PSVR + PS4?

I really think they should focus on making a decent game before VR. Bethesda, EA, Activision etc.. Already have functional well selling popular game, Codemasters on the other hand don't really have that.

Good game first, yes but I would love it to come to PSVR in a post launch patch.

I think Codies are working in PSVR for Dirt Rally.

That's a load of rubbish cause codemasters are going to support ps vr with over 200 companies

Yeah BIG companies even are not using it at the moment
I'm on a PC, and games are way more immersive on the oculus rift for me. Most sims, not just car sims, on the PC have VR support. Codemasters had VR support with Drift and that was a great experience. If Mad Studios can do such a great job, and Codemasters has done in the past then why not with F1 2016? Anyway that's just what I think.
