I  have T500RS , since leaving the last update can not play. How is it possible this happen . It's playing with who paid for the game. Who will pay me the hours I spent trying to tune my steering wheel ? In the company where I work we make a mistake we have to solve as fast as possible . The team drit rally is a joke.

ASK will again ......

How is it possible ?????????

@ Christina and CM, thanks for the info. It's good to know this issue is being looked at as a hot fix situation and not having to wait until a cumulative patch.
It's a pain not being able to play, but here's hoping for a speedy resolution ?

Just bring back the previous version so that we can at least play the game while you're looking for the solution, please..

This game is amazing, all it needs is some concept cars (mitsubishi lancer for rallycross) and more tracks, like nurburgring. I know nurburgring is a circuit track but it would be fun to drive on with these cars.
Rallycross needs alot more content. Its pretty horrible when the multiplayer part of the game only has 3 tracks and a handful of cars.  We need more/bigger tracks, some tracks with big jumps.
I loved dirt 3 for its multiplayer, can we get some similar features?. Gymkhana, baja, trophy truck racing, dune buggies, drift challenges. Dirt Rally is a amazing game with loads of potential. It would hurt to see a great game die, due to lack of content.

Nurburgring (you probably meant Nordschleife, right?) as you said is a circuit track and has nothing to do with rally or rally cars. It would perfect for a GRID game, but there's just no place for it in DiRT

I don't understand why we can't simply have the patch rolled back to the previous version until the problem can be identified and patched.
Almost all of the top leaderboard times are being set with a wheel, as it's a proper sim racer so whilst all Thrustmaster wheels are unusable, your core gamers can't play. It's not like there was anything seriously wrong with the game before, but there is now.
Please CM, just give us back the old patch so we can play the game again!

Having problem with my t500rs on PS4  after the patch. There Is ffb but you can't control the vehicles correctly at all. Also the calibrate option is gone and the ffb settings are grey out and you are not able to adjust them.

With the help of the new patch I made some homage video of the Peak:

On the issues: My T300RS works fine (PC). Is it a PS4 only problem?

You don't need to calibrate a t500 as it self calibrates?  The recent patch appears to have locked the in game DOR to 360  and the t500 defaults to 900.  To remedy this problem you need to (on the wheel) press and release at the same time the "look right" button and the button next to the mode light - the mode light should then flash once, do the same again and the mode light will flash twice, then go to advanced wheel settings in the game and make sure steering sensitivity is 100. Steering linearity is 0. Steering dead zone is 0. and steering saturation is 100 - this should make the game usable again for you, it does for me

Thank you Codemasters for this update .
The FFB in rally cross now feels as good as the rest of the game , Awesome . I think the whole FFB feels even better also .
If you do have to update the FFB to fix Thrustmaster issues please dont break it for the rest of us .
I use Fanatec 911 GT2 on PS4 and it feels better than anything else on the console .
Again Thank you .

Thanks for this, it seems to have made it better, but I still can't seem to get back the feeling from before the patch. I'm not sure if it's just not having played for a couple of days or if it really is different but it's certainly feels different.
Hopefully the patch will get fixed, but at least I can kind of play the game now so thanks!

I did the above while fiddling around trying to fix the feel post patch.
It is the best we can do until this error is fixed and credit to madwak for posting it.

There is still a large lax/slack central area to the steering and, for me, on a T300 all fine detail, the granularity that told you what the tyres were doing, is absent. It's immensely frustrating to find that, after ages being the black sheep of the steering world in Dirt Rally, the patch arrived and made things WORSE rather than better. Hey ho, fingers crossed Thrustmaster customers are a priority next week.

I don't have any problems with pike peak and my Fanatec csw v2 on a ps4. After the patch it is so much better now. I set almost everything to 140. It's still a bit weak but ok. Since we don't have ffb meter it  is hard to say how close or far away I am from clipping. Compared to other games it is still a bit weak

Nobody from CM wants to ask how our weekends went?

I know that is being looked at, but there have a lot of posts on this topic since the last acknowledgement by ChristinaMc. Give us an idea of timescale maybe.

I hope it it is days and not weeks or months. Please!

Can someone answer me this:
  • If I uninstall+reinstall, thus losing the day 1 patch, will I only lose online capabilities or were there any other improvements?
  • Is it enough to disable auto updates on the PS4? I see contradictory statements where it seems sometimes it still installs the latest patch with auto updates off (so disconnecting from the internet would be the only way)...?
Thanks!

Hey, thanks for your post. We've responded a number of times on various different threads pertaining to this issue - including this one - but sorry if you've missed those messages. We're really sorry about the inconvenience to those using Thrustmaster wheels, and please be assured that we're looking to fix this as a priority.

As mentioned earlier on this thread, we're working on a fix - but this will still need to go through the usual first party submission process. Another avenue we're looking into is a roll back to a previous version while we do this, but this has pros and cons. We're discussing the best way to proceed with Sony now, and I'm hoping to have a timeframe for you all soon - and as soon as I do, I'll be sure to update you all.

EDIT: After further tweaking, FFB appears fine for me now, it's manageable. It's still quite weak, but previous settings prepatch no longer give feedback. I'll leave the post up though.

@ChristinaMc

There seems to be enough posts about it, but I want to just add in that I am having the issue with FFB as well. I am only playing on PC, Windows 10.

Items:
- Thrustmaster TX base
- 599 evo rim
- F1 rim
- Driver version 2.8.54.0, package 2.TTRS.2016

Issues:
- Neither rim gives rumbling or jolts or "feedback" ( and no I don't rally with F1 rim, did for testing :P )
- Example would be, even taking a jump and on a landing, there is zero feeling in the wheel.
- Countersteer appears to be in effect, I can fight the wheel, but it doesn't feel right half the time. It reminds me of when I owned logitech wheels and sometimes you had to enable reverse feedback effects or it didn't work correctly. This is how it feels to me at the moment.

Telemetry based feedback is working, i.e. Simvibe works fine. With my bass shakers on, I get all the proper responses I should from bumps and surface changes, while not getting anything from my wheel. I have tested the game with and without simvibe running to make sure it didn't cause a conflict.

+ Have also tried validating game files.

Wish I could offer more info. If needed, let me know and I'll try testing something else.

*EDIT: I have always used porkhammers popular FFB profile, and with it, I get no to very little FFB now. With FFB set to default, I do feel it quite a bit in my F1 rim, but it's still extremely weak in my 599 EVO rim. Did forces go down in the patch?

Thank you for the update, I understand that it takes time to fix something like this. But what I don't understand is how the situation is being handled. A significantly large group of your customers is affected by the problems of this patch, yet an official statement on the Codemasters site/ Dirt Rally site/Facebook page/Twitter page is nowhere to be found.

Since the various reports from users about the TM problem a lot of people were still unaware of it, and thus downloaded the patch without knowing their game would be unplayable. Codemasters could have at least minimized it by explaining the problem on their various social media channels and warning the customers about the issue. Instead, you chose to ignore it and even a whole weekend went by without intervening.

Yes, you have answered some questions in a few topics but lets face it, the bulk of your customers don't even know this forum exists, let alone they read every single comment. On the Facebook page I saw a post from someone who asked what happened last Friday and he only got his answer on Monday, after the weekend. In a situation like this people shouldn't have to wait three days for an answer to a problem. Your customers paid 60 -70 euro for your product, when a major mistake like this happens you should always be on top of it, even on weekends. As someone who's familiar with external corporate communication and crisis communication this crisis is being handled terribly, however small this crisis is to Codemasters.

Pretty sure Pork runs a G27, so you really shouldn't be running his FFB setup.

He's been doing that for months without any issues, so it's not that.
