Thrustmaster Wheel Workaround

Recommended Posts

At least you can't drive like before. I mean, now I can steer to left amd right a little bit, but it isn't the same. I can't take the corners like before because the wheel in the game doesn't reply to the real movements at Thrustmaster.

I have to say that I had driven without any help and tried now again. Maybe I have more problems like other users because of that. I don't know...

So please Codemasters, try hard to fix the problem asap.

Just upgraded my wheel to a TX/599XX/T3PA-PRO setup.  Was hoping to try Dirt Rally on the Xbox One tonight, but this thread has me slightly concerned.  I haven't seen a clear description of what happened exactly and what platforms are affected.  I also own it on PC--am I better off trying it there?

It only affects the ps4 version of the game

Let us know what you think about it after you've had a decent play around. I'm sticking to the previous patch at the moment because my ffb is awesome, I've got plenty of feel on the Tarmac at Monte Carlo and it disappears a little when you get on the ice, before it used to be the other way round. I can even feel the ruts as I drive off the Tarmac onto ice, plus the feeling of the weight transfer from front to back and side to side and can even feel when the rear end is starting to slide out so I'm reluctant to install the new patch until lots of people say it's better than the original as I won't be able to get back to the 1st patch again smile
Good to have news from you. I was thinking about you while posting the above message. Not sure, but I think you have better to stay to patch 1.02 with the workaround a little bit more... it was not working for me anymore yesterday, that's why I downloaded patch 1.03. I have to test more tonight, but for me 1.02 + working workaround is better than patch 1.03. To be confirmed...

How does the workaround work? I discoverd there are 5 positions of how far you can turn the wheel and the mode light flashes as many as the position your on. But is this compareble with the wheel saturation ingame? Because apperently i can put it on the same turning degrees. Is it back on manufacturie settings when the light flash once. If its not please let us now how to put it back to standard. Thanx

@koenie1  It's back on the default setting when the light flashes 5 times.

I think 5 flashes sets it to 270 degree rotation, and 3 flashes is 900 degree. I run 3 flashes and 65% saturation, seems to work for me.

No, 3 flashes sets it to 540 degrees and 5 sets it to 1080 degrees. I think this is where most people are going wrong with the thrustmaster, you need to set the base to 3 flashes to get the 540 degrees rotation most people appear to be limiting the DOR in the game but the wheel still thinks it's set at 1080. When you've got everything working correctly and you are on the advanced wheel settings page you should be able to turn ur wheel to full lock and the display (below all the settings) will move round to 100?
