You can't mod on consoles. How many times does this have to be repeated across gaming websites?!
Incorrect you can mod on consoles as many are doing for example fall out 4 has many mods on consoles, your game just has to be compatable with it which i do believe f1 isnt

Totally inaccurate.

In which I think the person was only talking about F1 games. Also the modding capability of consoles is still poor for Fallout and will most likely be for Skyrim as well.

Id disagree with you there i like fall outs modding its slowly improving i mean we can already make our own vaults without the dlc from bethesda okay yes there are glitches and it can be clunky (mainly due to the very odd building system in fall out i believe) but it will get there eventually

And i was referring to the "You can't mod on consoles" comment. Which is inaccurate.  The fact you cant do it on F1 is codemasters decision, no one elses

Modding is mostly only used in RPG games though anyway and as for CM not supporting it I think that's down to the FIA as I think I read somewhere once that the FIA were trying to get CM to stop supporting these things. Don't ask me why as I don't know it's just what I've read. But I don't remember where I read that and it was quite some time ago. So if anyone is going to mod these games then they'll have to create their own tools and such to do it with I suspect.

As for modding on consoles in fairness it's still a new thing and the majority of games still don't support it so CM aren't exactly exclusive there. I know there are some games that do as I think the new Doom with the new snapmap features and such allows it as well to an extent. But right now it's quite limited and not many are allowing it yet. Presonally if you want to play with mods and enjoy doing different things with your games you're best doing it on PC rather than console.

Why would anyone be allowed console wide or pc to modify the original codebase of a game - to me that should be banned outright by the gaming companies and Xbox and PS4 themselves! I'm serious folks!!!!

Those are mods imported from PC. You still can't mod on consoles.

Well that's just semantics!

Modding using a console is a long way off. Yes the mods will be done on PC (but consoles are PC's lets not get crazy nitpicky)
Having a mouse and a keyboard and a full suite of image processing software and IDE's make PC's the place to mod.

Consoles having mods is allowing those mods made on PC's  to be used on the console.

Trouble is, if they allow it they open pandora's box in the fact if 2016 turns out to be the best game in the series and 2017 flops, people will just mod 2016 to use updated liveries and drivers and no one will use 2017

Championship manager 03/04 is a prime example of this. People played it for decade afterwards (and still do) just downloaded the updated squads.
