I guess another name to call a cockpit would be "vagina"

Without getting too silly and keeping within the forum rules, does anybody know why they call it a cockpit?

I imagine its from a old airplane term that was spelled close to it or something

To me the cockpit view is the best option both for the immersion and lap times. Of course there are some tracks where the t-cam view is preferable but it's still playable on cockpit view. Good thing i'm a pc user and i am able to adjust it a little.
lucky...

Yes always. Firstly for the immersion and secondly because strangely it is the view I get the best laps in lol.

If I have a chase cam I can't see what the front is doing so I miss all apexes and if I do front cam I can't see what the rear is doing so I can't predict slides as well. Cockpit is in the centre and solves both of these.

The word cockpit was originally a sailing term for the coxswain's station in a Royal Navy ship. The word Cockpit first appeared in the English language in the 1580s, "a pit for fighting cocks", from cock + pit. Used in nautical sense (1706) for midshipmen's compartment below decks; transferred to airplanes (1914) and to cars (1930s). From about 1935, cockpit came to be used informally to refer to the driver's seat of a car especially a high performance one, and this is official terminology in Formula one.

I had make a mistake in the poll, We use the Tcam view at online because you can see if you have another driver close to you in parallel. It prevents to crash with your friends. But, if VR comes, Id rather prefer use the copckit camera like I do in Project Cars.

I occasionally use the cockpit cam if I'm using my wheel, it also depends on the position of the cam. Codemasters' F1 games haven't been particularly great with cockpit views.

But most of the time I play with a pad, in which case I use the t-cam view.
