Okay, you should or you must upgrade ONLY your CPU . Everything else is good enough
Cheers! Will the AMD FX 8320 work and will it be useable on a laptop?

not really the FX 8320 is a desktop processor if your going to start gaming you need a proper gaming rig or a console. Laptops in general aren't great for gaming I'm afraid. Either do what I've suggested or get yourself a proper modern gaming laptop as just sticking a processor like that in and hoping it'll work is more likely going to render your machine useless. Laptops are next to impossible to upgrade as their more designed for simple stuff like surfing the internet or doing simple things like word processing not gaming really.
Listen here @sjsharp2010, I am not going to get a gaming PC. I have no choice but to stick with my laptop. So, all I want to know is that will my the AMD FX 8320 will work on my laptop, or the Intel Core i5 4690. This is all I want to know, and I don't want to hear any of this 'get a gaming rig'. Tell me which would work better and why. Thank you.

The Intel Core i5 4690 is much better . AMD CPU's are not so good . Intel CPU's are the best CPU's. Really !!!

Agreed they are really. I was only telling you what most computer shops would be telling you @HulkenbergMC no need to get high and mighty about it you asked for advice and I gave it. If you chose a different path that's your problem.

Hey @Seriously! So I have decided to purchase an Intel Core I5 4690, but on my laptop, there aren't any shapes or anything you can unscrew the back off. There are screws which I unscrewed, but the back plate is still stuck on. For reference, it is a HP Pavilion. Thanks.

Hey @HulkenbergMC maybe this helps you out . I hope so !! If not then tell me . I will try to help you..

You won't be able to use an i5 4690 in your laptop. It's a desktop CPU. What is the exact model of your HP laptop?

Why not? You can use Intel in other laptops. Surely you can just take out the AMD one and put in the Intel...
you can only do it if it's compatible with your motherboard. you need to find out what motherboard your laptop is using and then find out what CPU's are compatible with it because different motherboards have different slots for their various components and they all use different ones

I'm not sure .But you could run F1 2015 . HAs the CPU really only 1.80GHz? That would be to less for F1 2016. And with the GPU I'm not sure if it's good enough ...

Okay, thanks! So I have decided to not use Intel and use an AMD FX 9590. Will this mean I won't have to change the mother board, but it will still require me to open the back of the laptop.
I'm trying to help you . But I don't use or have a laptop.....

Hey @Seriously. Okay, step 5 is the issue. I unscrewed all the screws but my cover is still stuck on. It won't just lift off. I got told by my friend I may need to pry it open, but I don't want to break it and If I did, I'd want to do it correctly. Please help!
So with Step 5 . Which HP Pavilion laptop have you got.?.. Please the complete model name !!

I have pretty much same laptop as you have (630M - 6GB RAM - i5 2.5Ghz) and the closed beta was a struggle. Maybe NVIDIA drivers will increase FPS, but for now I had only a max of 30 on lowest settings.

Built mine a year ago, Gskill Ripjaws X  @ 2133 mhz, with Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3 motherboard.

Also has liquid cooling for the CPU. Thing puts off a lot of heat even at idle lol. Built last July for 1200 USD after cost of shipping. But I also got two keyboards, a gaming mouse and a set of turtle beaches.

Without knowing how well the game performs it's hard to say but I'd say high or ultra

I've testing it in triple screen all settings maxed, did the benchmark and it stayed above 56 FPS the entire time. I've also played a few other games triple screen on max without issues.

A lot of times though, when I'm playing an strategy game like Galactic Civilization 3 (played it triple screen, didn't like it lol) or games like stardew valley, sims 3 etc, I run single monitor and run youtube or netflix on one of my other monitors. lol. Triple screen is glorious for people like me who like to multitask a lot to keep my mind busy.
