(PC) Anybody playing F1 on laptop? Thoughts & recommendations

Recommended Posts

Hi there
I'm wondering, how many of the F1 Players (PC version) use a laptop as gaming machine and if so, which models and specifications are used.
Might be interesting for the ones who think of buying a new system. I'm also wondering if i should take a step up, perhaps on an acer predator or something similar.
Would be cool if some of you could share their experiences, perhaps in the same listing, that I use. So it's easy to compare.

My machine: Acer V7 Nitro
Core: i7-4710@2.5
Gfx: Nvidia GeForce 860M
Year: 10/2014

ingame settings with F1 2015:  Details on high
fps: around 40 (will do some benchmark test later again and post the fps in different detail settings)

looking forward to your experiences. Thanks and have a nice day

Yup, I do! Although mine is an Alienware 15R equipped with Windows 10 Pro, 8 GB RAM, an i7 2.6 GHz quad core processor and a GeForce GTX 965 video card with 4 GB GDDR5 VRAM memory so I doubt very much I'm gonna need to get myself a new one as I think it'll have no problems running F1 2016 :)

Thanks @RickFlare96 ! How are your details settings and fps?

I usually play F1 2015 with detail settings on high, fps anywhere between 40 & 60, depending where I'm at on the circuit :)

Not a setup I'd exactly recommend for gaming, but just for the record...

My machine: Macbook Pro 15", mid-2015, 16Gb (Windows 10, BootCamp)
Core: Intel Core i7, 2.5Ghz
Gfx: AMD Radeon R9 M370X
Year: June 2015

ingame settings with F1 2015:  Medium
fps: 30-40

Alienware computers are made for gaming cause of the high end components they have & the best part is, they're not as expensive as they used to be which was a huge selling point for me :)

@SmUtNgg. That's Impossible. In my opinion, your machine should be fine running on high to ultra settings with a very good framerate. Are you sure, F1 2015 uses your nvidia card and not the standard on board graphics card? For some games I have to edit the nvidia manager settings, so that the nvidia card is activated as soon as the game starts. Another factor that might cause lag is the energy setting of the gfx card. Make sure if you experience lag, that the energy options in the nvidia manager are set to "maximum performance" . Hope that helps!

Any idea how to fix that?

Thought my post was the description?! If you struggle with this let me know. I'll send you some screens via PM. Will be able to do that later tonight (German time).
