A NEW F1 CLASSIC GAME, THE F1 FANS DREAM...

Recommended Posts

Hello guys, I'm sorry for my enlish, i hope you will be understand my idea...

Many f1 fans loves classic f1 cars and tracks... Why Don't make a game to satisfy they?? (including me)

IT would be fantastic play a classic f1 simulation with legendary drivers as Mansell, Senna , Villeneuve ecc...

It would be exciting relive in first person the duels between Senna and Prost, Lauda and Hunt, Schumacher and Hill ,And many Others!!

It would be very cool play the game with the old 'monsters' cars and the old tracks, created carefully year for year...

This is simply my idea... Let my know if you enjoy this...

Lots of people would love this :)

Unfortunately, the licensing would be almost impossible, as Codemasters found out in 2013. For example, some of the licences already belong to other companies (e.g. Reiza Studios hold the exclusive rights to use Senna in a video game, I think?), some of the original manufacturers no longer exist and their usage rights may belong to nobody or to multiple holders, etc.

Polyphony Digital had the licence to use Senna in Gran Turismo 6. It even featured his 1988 suit and helmet (before the Senna update), and the Senna update included his kart, F3 car and his 1985 Lotus.

this idea is so old, like the drivers u mentioned!!!

the only way to play some old stuff is to download a mod, and a mod is always for PC, not a console!

There are many Games for that, f.e. rFactor, Grand Prix 4, or Codemasters F1

It's a thing on rfactor. Since we will at least have to wait another year to see if FOM have eased up anymore you've got factor at your disposal. Also from what Aarava said they're a bit easier on the old cars, so I think it's more a case of getting a functional and brilliant game for that season and then any extras.Maybe if they port stuff from f1 2016 over since from what I've heard they started this game from scratch,so if it's a good game I don't see why not to just re-use some things but with minor improvements to the things they carry over (probably tracks, flag systems etc..). But then of course as they did with F1 2013 if they have spare time they may consider that!

I would love another classic edition.

But the actions speak for themselves. CM did a classic addition to F1 2013. Now if this made them a batch of cash, then logic says that they would have done the same for 2014 onwards as well. But clearly it didn't.

I just feel miserable that we will never be able to re-live a 1980s,70s or 60s grand prix season. But I just don't believe the demand is there for it. The only thing we are likely ever to get is the odd snippet here and there, like with team lotus in pcars. That is, until someone, somewhere builds a racing minecraft, that allows full community track build and editing and car creation. That's going to happen sooner or later.

When Papyrus made Grand Prix Legends they had to individually license the cars, drivers, tracks, etc. It seems that whilst a season is current (2016 or so) someone can license the whole thing in one go from FIA/FOM, but previous seasons are more tricky.

That said, in 2003, ISI/EA released F1 Challenge 99-02, with 4 seasons of F1 in, so there must be some way around some of this. Although that was 13 years ago!
