anyone know why Martin brundle has never been in the f1 games? Would be great to see him do a game grid walk

He has been in the F1 games. Just not the Codemasters ones.

Which was the point I was trying to make they've worked with Crofty and Davidson ever since they've acquired the license. They know them therefore it makes sense that they continue to use them. Plus I think Brundle would likely cost them a lot of money which would likely be better spent elsewhere.

He was on F1:CE. Would like him in the next game doing some race and qualifying preview stuff instead of Anthony Davidson who could still do practice preview. Maybe introduce the legendary grid walk. :)

Perhaps but Sony might have had more money than CM do for this project we don't know

Sony almost certainly had more money. It's also quite possible that CM just signed up Croft and Davidson for the length of their licensing deal, as that'd probably be cheaper and more efficient than re-negotiating every year. (Also makes it easier to re-use some lines from previous years' games if they want or need to, of course, rather than having to re-record everything every year.)

@scottishwildcat well if you think about it SONY have more money but their F1 projects wouldn't have been their main priority and would have more money put into it but not by much.

they where already collaborating with Davidson for the physics and they probably decided that it was not worth in spending more to include Brundle.

who knows maybe in the near future with bigger budget they will or replace Anthony at the end of his contract.

I do have a Soft Spot for DC and his tight trousers. Always enjoyed Brundle until Sky basically killed decent Free to air coverage in the UK/Ireland.

Back when I were a nipper, RTE in Ireland covered every race due to the relative success of Jordan. I grew up with Peter freaking Collins (terrible) and the other guy who was actually pretty good. Check this out:

Man them McMerc V10's  sound unreal.

Hah, I'd forgotten they used to cover every race... when I first moved to Dublin, I used to turn over to RTE during ITV's mid-race ad breaks  :s

David Kennedy was the other guy, he was half-decent because he'd been an F1 driver himself, driving for Shadow in their last season, 1980. (Never actually qualified for a race, though -- that year the bottom 7 in qualifying just didn't get to start!)
