Great pix.
Have you got any pics of your old gr4, i owned 2 full spec escorts in my time but the ex wife destroyed **** loads of photos and Cups as she was convinced rallying meant more to me than her, guess what she  was not wrong.
Lost a lot of stuff when I moved to the States.  :'(

I'd really like to the Porkster behind the wheel of an actual car and see how he does.
Probably not very well considering I can't even afford a drivers license!

:D
My comment was regarding this, sorry if I baffled you a bit Porky.

My point was that one don't need a driving license to be quick behind the wheel of a real car.
I'm quite content with driving a virtual rally/race car though, wouldn't want to do that stuff in real life with all the risks and money involved. I have a woman for that.

;)
I'm confused, you have a woman to drive you around fast, or a sexpensive woman that comes with risks? I think we might be learning too much about you Pork.

back to the club sport shift, picked one up recently, fin as lot got it set up on my rig.  I love the feel, really great price.  my only complaint is the metal clunk sound, why after all this engineering, can't they put a small rubber dampener on the part that hits the metal?

One other thought regarding DR, we have some nice options for gears (Seq + Clutch + stick), but most of these cars have dog gears so why after moving, do we need o use the clutch in the game.?  Also Seq shifters still need a clutch to engage 1st and Reverse.  just surprised how close we are to a sim and a couple of these things are overlooked.  Really like how AC has most of this worked out, just wish it was prettier.

Because it's all metal. I thought about it, but I mean, if you turn your speakers up you don't even notice it.

You still feel it, my car seems dampened when shifting, which is a good thing, mechanically!  So that seems more realistic, maybe @Rallycameraman could give us some insight, i think he is running straight cut gears?

Sorry, man, maybe this isnt the best time to ask.

I'm sure if you wanted you could crack it open and put some rubber in there. I just don't care enough, and again, use headphones or louder speakers. In my crappy car at least it is quite a loud shifter if the windows are down. But then I just blur it out with the stereo....

Just to be clear, I'm really not complaining, its the best shifter I've used and the noise is just me nit picking.  I am very happy with my purchase

I am a big fan of realism and i am yet to try a fanatec shifter but since this thread started  i have been testing a few things,To convince me to go H pattern i really need the ability to replicate dog boxes, clutch less changes, my sequential shifters at least allow this.

Alright, so, I'll admit, I've never driven a dog box, but how much would the shifter itself actually change that?

You can use h-pattern without clutch as a setting to replicate this. However, as the games autoclutch steps in it makes it kinda slow compared to using clutch. It's a shame Codies didn't implement proper dogbox shifts.

Like I said, this is the one of the options they left off that would have been nice.  Though, not dog box shifting, AC seems to implement sequential gearboxes correctly since you need to press clutch in for 1st gear to engage.

I think some of these little things should be added now as we are heading towards a sim more and more.
