F1 2016 - Supported Wheels

Recommended Posts

It's CLEARLY Codemasters fault just like Fanatec said. Dirt Rally supports Fanatec but F1 2016 doesn't. wtf?

So what we need is some kind information about if F's wheels still work with F1 2016. Of course they can't say it officially but as we all know, companies can put build in wheel drivers in their games. Or does Sony now somehow threatens these companies and they are so lame that they do what Sony says? Could CM even give us some hint that F's wheels still work, regardless about official statements.

I could play F1 2016 on my Xone too, but 'cause I have CSL P1 wheel rim(to make CSW v2 One compatible) it would be stupid to drive F1 with round wheel rim.

CM are not saying anything about it at all other than their "statement". It's a terrible situation for Fanatec owners who switched to PS for the compatibility. There I was thinking that F1 2016 would cost me £40-£50 to play but now it's going to cost me the price of a T300RS and decent pedal set. My CSR Elite works perfectly well so if I have to spend £300-£400 to play F1 2016 i'll be building a gaming PC for a bit extra. There are many in the same posisition as me and for CM not to say anything other than "read the statement" or "it's out of our hands" or nothing at all it shows that their statement about "doing all they can" and caring about their community is utter bull. I suspect they delayed the announcement about wheel compatibility because they knew it would effect pre-order sales. I've cancelled mine and i suspect thousands of others will too... Either that or they are blissfully unaware that a wheel that worked with '15 won't work with '16, buy the game and then have a WTF moment when they try to play it and find out. There will be a massive backlash for sure.

I have been looking forward to F1 2016 for literally years and with a week to go CM give me a huge slap in the face.

Please CM, we deserve a full explanation on this.

Guys think about it!

Why should codemasters willingly drop Support for a device, that was supported in a game with the same engine (F1 2015) ?

They only dropped it because of an external  pressure from  Sony  and you will See that Assetto Corsa won't have Fanatec Support aswell, so don't blame codies for something that is not really in their hands.

It would be better if Fanatec owners would Start building pressure on Sony and Fanatec to resolve their feud and maybe F1 2016 will be getting Fanatec Support through a patch then.

Asetto Corsa confirmed Fanatec Support m8.

Just look at the Fanatec FAQ.
I wish it was true. But as long as you don't show me an officiaI statement by Kunos I won't believe you.
There is still nothing official of the Fanatec website.

Codemasters just fucked up. I've cancelled my ps4 pre-order and bought a 25€ Steam-Key.  :D

The only reason I'm even still buying the game on PC is because they finally made a proper career mode again. Still losing money though, because I was going to buy the PS4 version in late fall to do Co-op and leagues with my friends on PS4, now I won't.

As i said: Clearly Codemasters fault.

I was really looking forward to F1 2016. All my friends are playing on PS4 and i'm the only one who can't.

They've not technically said that Fanatec wheels won't work on PS4. Granted, I'm being very optimistic here and will be gutted if my wheel doesn't work but several factors make me think it will.

If Fanatecs won't work then they surely would just come out and confirm it but I've asked several times for clarification here and on Twitter. If CM's historic form of not responding to customers queries isn't taken into account then the only logical explanation is that they have to publicly state that Fanatec wheels are not compatible to placate Sony but really, the wheels will work just fine.

That is what I'm basing my optimism on but to be perfectly honest, the lack of response on this is appalling. I'm a potential (and long time) customer, I have a query about the product and I'm being ignored. This sort of customer service policy would not survive outside of the video game industry.

I'm also basing my optimism on the fact that CM have the Fanatec drivers, Fanatecs worked with '15, Sony aren't stopping devs providing support they are only stopping Fanatec marketing their wheels as PS4 compatible and there will be a giant po o storm if thousands of Fanatec users find out they've just wasted £40-£50. Only a small portion of F1 game customers are on the forums.

My fingers are still crossed.

@jennyannem Please can you just respond with a simple yes or no to the following question... Will Fanatec wheels work with F1 2016 on PS4?

It is a simple but vital question and one that potential customers deserve to have an explicit response to.

Assetto Corsa have announced that they will work but forgetting the in's and out's of the Sony/Fanatec dispute please just a one word answer to my question.

Many thanks,

Mike.

Thank you for the response Jenny. Not the one I was hoping for but now at least I can make a well informed decision.

Now the question still looms about why CM aren't supporting Fanatec wheels given that it's down the the developer. Sony must be putting the pressure on you guys in some way. Not a nice situation for anyone involved.

I do not think that we will hear the real reason behind this decision through any of the officials. There is noone to blame for this because it is fully understandable that no internal communication with whatever party who is involved (sony/fanatec) should be made public.

It is still a bad situation for every fanatec owner using a PS4. Glad I invested 500€ in a dedicated Xbox One Wheelrim for my Clubsport Wheel  :s
