So glad I stuck with it

So, I doubt anybody cares, but I've just won my first stage and the sense of acheivement i'm feeling is simply unreal.
I got this game for Xbox One about 2 weeks ago, and have never finished higher than 4th. However, just now I won a stage on the German rally and I feel like I could start singing haha. This game must have one of the best learning curves I've ever encountered, it really makes you work for your first win, but it also feels like such an acheievement when you finally get it right.
Did anybody else feel this way when you got your first stage win?

Nice, for me it was my first clean stage that excited me, which led to winning the stage. Every time I play i enjoy it more the cleaner I drive.

Yeah, I got that feeling too. Everything is rewarding in this game - when you win your first championship, when you finish your first monthly event, when you win on master's difficulty, when you pull off perfectly clean stages - all of it takes effort and you really feel accomplished when you do it.

Thanks guys, I think my days of getting a clean stage are a long way off, as is winning an overall rally. I can't even imagine how difficult winning in a Group B car would be, let alone winning on Masters ( Clubman is difficult enough ). Glad to know I'm not alone in feeling like this though.

You'll get there! When I first started, the idea of even getting a podium on harder difficulties or finishing a rainy stage without crashing seemed almost unreachable, but you'll find yourself steadily improving the more you drive, and before you know it, those goals that seemed far off are easily obtainable. That's one of my favorite things about this game, the career may not be flashy like some other games but when you win it's because YOU put in the work, and mastered the skills necessary to be fast.

^ That. Nice to see people are still finding the game and "getting" it. I've been playing it since release and I still find stage wins satisfying!

Hmm, I'm past that point when it comes to AI. Then again, leaderboards against other players aren't that satisfying even if I finish in top 10 to be honest (which is rare, especially given that wretched setup bug) and given that every single RX lobby I enter becomes empty in a manner of 2-3 races, I kind of barely play the game lately.

But it's definitely good to hear that there are people who still get the satisfaction from it. Just wish there was more interest in RX side on this forum, some weekend sessions or something where you can join and play against others that won't leave because they think you cheat -_-

I haven't played much rallycross the last few weeks as I have been busy upgrading all the rally cars. Would really like to play rallycross online more, but my gaming time is rather erratic at the moment so I can't commit to a consistent time slot!

I'm sure the enjoyment of beating the AI will fade eventually, but thinking back to how off the AI pace I was when I started playing, it's pretty pleasing to see how much less of a fight it is getting to the end of a stage now.

When I eventually get the cash together for a wheel I'm sure I will be back at the start of the learning curve again. Actually from my limited time with a wheel I know I will be!

Given that you're on the console side, it's not much of an issue to find a lobby there. PC side though... it's either deserted or becomes deserted in a matter of minutes.
