Help me with my F1 art project!

Calling all CM forum members, I need you to help me with my art project for school!

I am currently doing A level art and the question I am answering is called 'Sporting Events'. Being a huge F1 fan, I have decided to focus on Formula 1, and I have an idea that I want to share with you. You can find out how you can help at the bottom of this post. If you want you can go straight there, but I would like you to read about how I am getting on so far.

What I want to do, is to make a piece that shows different elements of F1 that make it exciting and dramatic for me. I have got about 4 different categories that do that for me, and they are:
- Speed and movement
- Noise and technology
- Tension, danger and crashes
- Glamour, advertising and colour

So what am I doing with this? I have got some images of cars and close up images too and I am manipulating these physically. So I have printed them out (about A5 size for now) and I have put them onto card. I am folding the images, cutting bits out, painting over certain sections, to make it look dramatic and exciting. This means I can slot images together, and make the whole thing look fragmented.

So I am going to have a whole load of images like this, but I also want to have a film rolling in the background, or projected onto these images, showing clips of F1. I can't just nick this film off the internet. It has to be a personal response, so I have to make it myself. I want the film to include some iconic F1 moments, spectacular overtakes, big crashes, glamour, tension.

I have some ideas of what to include, but this is where you come in. I want you to just post some ideas on what clips to include. What overtakes stand out for you that I may have forgotten, or what crashes do you remember? What are key moments in F1 that you remember? Do you have any exciting music I could use in the video? If you do, link it here and I might use it in the video.

Anything helps, and I will definitely show you the finished video. I might even upload bits whenever I can to ask for feedback.

You definitely need to include a picture of Vettwl doing donuts at the end of last year. Speed and movement right there with a bit of glamour and color? You could use this for the end of the video, cut away and music and just let the V8 do the singing ;)

Tension:

As for glamour and colour, night shots of Singapore, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi together would be spectacular.

Noise and technology: 0:22 to 0:28 of Red Bull's 2014 F1 promo.

Iconic moments: The few seconds of commentary and video where Massa crosses the line in Brazil '08 before Hamilton overtakes Glock.

Spectacular crashes: Webber hitting the DHL sign in Valencia, Maldonaldo on Gutierrez just a few days ago (already mentioned), Massa pulling the fuel hose out and knocking the mechanics over in Singapore '08, Kubica's huge crash in Canada ('07 or '08?), first corner at Spa '12. Perhaps for action you could include a rapid succession of clips of cars spinning out of control, be it in wet or dry.

And finally to begin the video you could show the five red lights illuminating at various Grands Prix, then a dramatic pause, then the lights go out at the most spectacular/eye-catching track.

The tension thing could be done with just Vettel and Webber clips. One that springs to mind is the Multi 21 crap, and Webber at Fuji when Vettel took him out and the ensuing interview.

Tension, danger and crashes

Obvious again youtube f1 Crashes maybe include Redbull Turkey 08 (ithink) with horner from last year saying "c'mon seb this is silly now" or "Get him out of the way" from Vettel.

Glamour, Advertising and colour

tricky one but if you find the right content it could look good. Id suggest paddock shots of the rich and famous with plenty of bright colours.

When you mention crashes this is one that stands out as one I'll remember. Grosjean's Lotus only just missing Alonso's head.

For some overtakes you could have Raikkonen passing Fisi at Suzuka 2005.  Webber on Alonso at Spa 2011 and you just HAVE to use Massa on Senna at Singapore 2012 and Alonso on Schumi at 130R.

As for crashes , besides the ones mentioned already Barichello smashing into Alonso at Spa 2010 , Indy in 07/08 (I'm not sure) and I seem to remember a crash involving Fisichella at Turkey around 06-08 ( Again , I'm not sure).

As for music , could you give some more detail on what type of music you're looking for ?

@jordieDAFC Yes, I am using videos from the internet in my own film. So I've got loads so far and I'm editing the images together. That video is awesome, I'll try and incorporate some of that in my video. For the Abu Dhabi images and video, it would be great to have a look if it isn't too much trouble for you. Did you go in the paddock at all or the pit lane? If you got any close ups of the cars then they would be particularly good for me.

@justbiglee It doesn't matter if it doesn't fit into a particular category, it's still an iconic moment in F1 so I'll use it.

Yeah, i was in both the paddock and the pit lane. Got a few closeups of the garages and the Force India. I can't remember what the videos are like cause there was a railing right in front of me

You could do this whole serious video about the tension, and how dark, moody, and emotional F1 is. But, you need to include this video as the closer... Nothing comes close in terms of raw feelings.

Some more ideas that could help you out:

- Speed and movement:

To add to the other suggestions, you could use a few of those side of track shots as the cars go past. 

- Tension, danger and crashes

Crashes: Turkey 2010, Mald v Ham Valencia 2012, Kubica 2007, Massa 2009, some crash in the tunnel at Monaco (DC, Perez, Rosberg etc, any crash from spa :p , the chicane of turn 10 at Singapore where many drivers would go out, oh and Webber Valencia 2010. 

Tension: You could use radio messages as mentioned but include some that have the drivers moaning, (Lewis asking to not be talked too) or the infamous "Fernando is Faster than you...".

- Glamour, advertising and colour:

Yeah as mentioned by others any of the night races (include some shots of fireworks). Get some shots of the grid girls, the podium celebrations, The Monaco grid before race, or some of the yachts by the swimming pool section, the shot when a driver wins (you could use many successive ones like how yugin suggested with the lights). You could have a short montage of how the cars have evolved in shape over the years. Also a line of Murry Walker commentating.
