F1 2016: Technical Questions & Bug Reports - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Hey guys,

 In the build up to F1 2016, we’re making some changes to the way that the forum will work so that both you and our dev team can find discussions, questions and bug reports as quickly and easily as possible.

Firstly, any technical questions, or bug reports should be posted in the ‘F1 Technical Assistance’ forum, which is here – threads on these topics created in ‘F1 General Discussion’ will be moved.

Secondly, this year, we’d like you to keep each thread to a specific bug or discussion as opposed to having a long thread per platform that covers lots of things like we had last year. If you already see a thread for the question or issue you’d like to discuss, please add your thoughts there, rather than creating a new one. Duplicate threads will be closed or merged with the main thread.

Finally when reporting a bug or asking a question the more information you can provide the more quickly we’ll be able to help. Things like the platform you’re playing on (PS4, PC or Xbox One), the version of the game (this will be shown on the Press Start screen) and which game mode you’re in (Career, Quick Race etc) are very helpful to us but any other information you can provide will also be useful.

With only a few days to go now until launch, we can't wait for you to all to get your hands on F1 2016!

well im basically going to be playing night and day so if i find any time to pull myself away from the game i'll be sure to post on it but dont count on it :P

well i'll take a few hours to sleep lol on the bright side i'll probably have learned alot about the game and possible things to fix so theres that :open_mouth:

This is the Technical Support forum that was basically ignored for 7 or 8 months after the last release was forgotten about?

Who is going to manage that? Its completely pointless if nobody is keeping an eye on the threads and you end up with 100's of pages of unanswered queries - frustrating on ALL sides.

The  Beta thread was managed in a similar way and nearly all threads were responded from codemasters so hopefully it continues like this, but on a bigger scale

@jennyannem can you please advise why the game launch has been delayed in Brazil ? PSN release date is now set to be Aug 26th.

LOL -exactly my thinking! Yes 2016 is chock full of new features, but to what extend has all this been thoroughly tested ?! Welcome to user community testing folks !!!

When has any company ever brought a game out that hasn't had bugs..... ? Exactly, so everybody stop wining, and go about your business. Enjoy life man and live it, instead of always moaning about stuff. That's all that seems to be on this forum is complainers.

Im not confident about f1 2016 after reading this.Do they know that there are bugs and If there are then why we need to post it to another categorie.i feel that there might be suprise bugs what comes with dlc :D. , but I hope that I'm wrong

Not at all - it's just easier to say we'd like to change the way the Technical Assistance forum works before the game launches, rather than during. If you prefer, I could change the way we'd like the TA forum to work during release day?

This comes down to the old question of: can you write one line of code correct? If yes, then can you do it for 2, or 3, or 4, and while you're at it, do it for the remainder of the lines!  LOL! Just in case, huh, just in case!

Agreed, the TA needed a shake up, so why not see how Jenny's concept works. Gotta start somewhere.

That would be good if it was setup in the new format for the game release. Could do with sub folders for console specific items and general issues one.

Yeah probably same with me I'll tear myself away to come on here to tell CM and Jenny what a good job they've done I suspect but then after that I'll likely be straight back at it. I'll likely only be stopping to eat or drink and a quick trip to the toilet here and there but other than that I'll be all over the game on Friday. Assuming it shows up that is I know that's when it comes out but whether I get my copy on time is another question. I should given Shopto are  well known for delivering on time so I'm not worried. But it's one thing knowing it it's a totally different thing delivering on it. Kind of reminds me of one of Murray Walker's catchphrases " catching is one thing passing is quite another."

I've gone with shopto as well, got a notification I've been charged today but game is still saying 'processing' hopefully it'll get dispatched tomorrow.  I only went with them as they appear to have a better reputation for delivering pre order games on time...

I've just had an issue which might be a bug, but frustratingly might actually be a conscious development choice.

I stayed out a lap longer than my planned stint by accident. During the extra lap, I was offered a strategy change to come in that lap which of course I took. At this point my tyres were badly worn and they eventually punctured at the last corner. Once I got into the pits, I had to wait for my teammate's planned pitstop even though he came in five seconds after me. He ghosted through me, changed tyres and raced on whilst I waited. This is obviously both incredibly unrealistic and also reasonably annoying for the user. 

This is the only issue I've had with the game so far though, you guys have done a great job this year.

yeah that was primarily why I went with them and mine got dispatched today so I've obviously made the right choice.

Sounds like a plan.  CM forum has had the highest number of 'wandering' threads I think I've seen anywhere, matched only by the number of duplicate topics.

Sounds good to me. Saves me a lot of unnecessary reading. Would be even better if you can post topics under the specific platform (Xbox One, PS4 and PC)
