Real Life Onboards Version 1

Recommended Posts

I returned to standard settings offset t cam because it was impossible to see the road when popup messages appeared. I loved that cam though, very realistic.

Turn off "messages and flags" in the HUD settings. But then you won't get the pit limiter time so you have to remember to stay below 80 kph when going into the pits.

May I ask why you would want to spend a lot of time making a T-Cam look realistic - if you want a realistic driving experience, surely you would use cockpit view and adjust those settings to make it realistic.

Take a minute to think.

Surely you must understand that we want to have it like it is on TV and not see from the drivers perspective...

What about when safety car is deployed or yellow flags?

Try so (For cars like Mercedes):

FIELD OF VIEW..... -0.40
OFFSET: HORIZONTAL..... -1.00
OFFSET: VERTICAL..... 1.00
ANGLE..... -1.00
NEAR CLIP PLANE..... 0.00
MIRROR ANGLE..... 0.00
CAMERA SHAKE..... 0.0%
CAMERA MOVEMENT..... 0.0%

It will disable all that information as well. You can use the LED boards and marshals for all that though anyway. Plus your engineer will always communicate if an SC or VSC was deployed.

Can anyone confirm the onboards have changed again after 1.5.0?
Yes, they changed a bit.
Aah I thought so, thanks.
Everytime I find a setting they change it again lol.
Can you tell what's changed, like is it the deivers height again?

@MachOne1 I'm not sure really, looks like it's the camera height for some cars, but could be something else though. Previous build I always made a setting for the Mercedes and it didn't work for most other cars but now I don't have to change as much when switching.

Since the new patch, the cameras have changed and now the cars look really fat which makes them look nothing like real life. I'll have a play about with the sliders to try and change the cameras again

Spot on. That's what I've been trying to put my finger on, the offset t-cam especially looks terrible.

Can someone from Codemasters tell us exactly what they have changed again with the onboard so that it will be a bit easier for us to find our preffered setting? @jennyannem @Lozzy

Please just change the views back to before update. This is a clear step backwards and its a shame cause the TV offset camera was such an improved part of the game this year. It looks like they lowerd the maximum height?

They look worse than ever. I have to say before all this mess of the updates they were the best camera views ever, especially the T-cam offset, I was so impressed with how realistic they were, spot on.
