2016 Handling is TERRIBLE on Controller

This version is the best since 2012 and if you want your scalextric handling of F12015 go back to F12015
I agree I think it will be the best once it's clicked and I get to grips with the level of smoothness required.

As to who the market audience is, Codemasters have made it pretty clear in past interviews that they try to appeal to casual gamers as much as possible. You've never heard them once say "accessibility" no? Who do you think that means lol.

I think to state there are going to lots of copies on used game shelves is pretty fair actually. My feeling is that 95% of casual gamers who try it out because they somewhat enjoy driving games and who obviously don't own a wheel simply won't put in the time required to get good enough at it, they'd rather have something they can just mindlessly pick up and have success at straight away.

Personally that doesn't bother me but like it or not there aren't any big title games that don't have general gamers as their number one target audience, they're the overwhelming bulk of the market ffs so of course they do. But then you'll probably accuse me of crying next for saying the above so it's pointless lol

I feel like everyone who is crying about the handling is basically comparing 2016 to 2015. Obviously its going to be different.

Well see you in a year in 2017 for more Salty tears
Haven't really read anyone crying about the handling, mostly just people surprised at the sudden big jump in precision required. No one said it wasn't going to be different, "obviously it's going to be different" is stating the obvious.

Your opinion is that people should just shut up and not talk about it then otherwise they're crying? Rather strange opinion there I think.

I agree 100% and for me the best version F1 is 2012 and now 2016.

I don't think anyone who has been on this site for a while would accuse you of being a fanboy!

I like to be inclusive and hate everything/everywhere/everyone equally

I'm enjoying how the car feels on the controller. I'm currently running only medium TC and rest all the assists Off. I love how you get to control the slide out of a corner and the car on the kerbs is so much better than F1 2015.

I've jumped from 2014 to 2016. I've only done a handful of laps and yes it takes some getting used to. Especially after playing Forza. However it is a challenge and a really good one. The familiarising task was a good start and I'm going to do the tyre test later.

It it takes getting used. I made jumps from 2011 to Forza 3 and took ages to adapt as it was like turning a bus, but it's just practise that's all.

Agree with most of the posts here, not finding the pad racing any fun this year. Goes into lock really fast, car hard to handle with it.

Anyone try the tire test with a pad? I can't do anything but go straight to the red failure zone with a pad.
I can keep it purple and green no problem on the pad.

Yeah try without tc. Also turn in, well what turn in do you get? I don't get anything

I'm on pad without any assists and it's fine for me. I was a beta player and it took me TIME. You need to be precise, smooth, calm and gentle and it's fine. People need to stop comparing it to 2015. I remember my first lap around Albert Park in the beta. I drove like 2015 and ended up in the wall. You need to come at it fresh and learn slowly.

If you want quick steering response like F1 2015 try fiddling with the Steering Saturation slider in the Advanced Wheel Options. I increased my settings to 3% saturation and I find it perfect for driving. And also, I'm running with medium TC, because I find it hard with the TC completely off.

I only call out cry babies when its justified don't worry.

This is a proper F1 game unlike the previous garbage. CM done a good with the handling i think just need to get use to it, nothing wrong with it in my opinion

CM actually on the right track with racing games at the moment, Dirt rally was amazing and now F12016 is really good. Deserve credit where its due. Forza Horizon 3 is coming up for people who want a game they can just pick up and win.

I'm kinda getting used to it now this is what I've learnt so far! As a tip u need to carry a lot of apex speed and it really important to go 100% on the brakes and take it down as you rotate the car and it's ok the lock as you rotate the car just make sure the wheel doesn't stop moving!

Getting use to driving the game now but driving in the rain is impossible any wet tyre does not matter even driving like a granny on Sunday, you still feel like you are on a ice skating ring. I have to admit the handling of the game in 2015 was much better. I'm using controller in xbox

I've put medium traction control on and am finding it a lot more enjoyable. Once I'm used to it it will be going off I hope

Driving in the rain is treacherous A.F.

It's one of the better things they have done this year. On F1 15 bucketing down and only going like 5-10s slower per lap, also meaning the window where inters worked was very small. Now we're closer to 20s off the pace which is much more like real life.

If you feel you are driving like a Granny, remember the rest of us are too...

Just managed purple and green laps in tyre management in a Haas! I think I'm getting the hang of using a pad in 2016.

Also using 5% steering saturation.

That's good to know

After a few more hours the handling is beginning to feel superb. Just realised I've subconsciously learnt to not push either the brakes, throttle, or steering more than halfway at any point and my lap times are dropping fast. I hope all those casual gamers who play, if there are any, stick with it.

I agree. The handling gets better and better the more you practice it. Managed a 1:26:845 in a stock mercedes in time trial (australia) on a pad also.
