FPS drops from 90+ to 10-15 during driving and returns to normal after twice 'esc' PC

Recommended Posts

Intel 6700k, 16gb ddr4 memory, MSI GTX1070 Gaming (latest drivers installed, clean install), Thrustmaster T500RS.

All works fine but after driving (time trial, quick race, multiplayer, etc.) for a few seconds the fps drops to unplayable levels (15 fps). When I hit 'Esc' to enter the menu and then 'Esc' to go back to the game it works again. This happens 3/4 times per lap though...

It also happens ruting Benchmark mode

Ayone with the same problems?

Happened to me when starting a flying lap, several times, at the beginning of the lap. Massive frames drop.

Try to set the energyoptions in the nvidia control software to "maximum performance" instead of "optimum performance" . Solved a similar issue for me in pcars

Same problem here.
(AMD FX 8350, 16gb ddr3, Zotac GTX 970, Samsung SSD).

The game works at solid 60 fps even at ultra settings, but after one or two lap the fps randomly drops to 5 for a few seconds, even if i press the pause button; after like 10 seconds i can continue playing at normal fps.
This happens more or less twice a lap during all the race. (also happens in free practice, quali, and benchmark test with all graphics configuration).

I still have the problem and I have been looking into it and made the foolowing observations:
  • by pressing any key the problem is gone again, until later that lap of course
  • looking at gpu-z I noticed that the GPU load went up from around 50% to 100% when the problem occurs
  • when I run taskmanager in the background the problem doesn't occur at all...
Perhaps this will help you

Have you guys got VSYNC enabled?

i noticed that if I enable VSYNC on my 120hz maybe motor then cutscenes are capped at 30fps. Experimenting with the VSYNC interval allowed me to fix this problem, but maybe VSYNC is buggy so maybe disabling it will help you...
