Too Hard/Too Easy??

Recommended Posts

is there a way to add an extra difficulty in between expert and legend??
cause expert is way too easy, and legend is way too hard?
so much so in the quali pace r&d objective
i can go purple on my first flying lap easy on expert
and on legend cant even get close to green lap time??
Thanks

I agree with this 100%.

In the Manor, on Expert, I 'purpled' all 3 tests in Australia at the first attempt, qualified 15th (11th in Q1) and finished 8th in the race. I'd tried to start on Legend but found myself nowhere near able to green the tyre wear test and I was 1.5s off Pascal Wehrlein in the qualy pace test.

The difference is staggering!! A difficulty level between the two would be ideal.

I started my career in Manor with legend ai no assists, pad and i was well of the pace. In first race even Wehrlein almost lapped me. For Bahrain i scaled down to expert and i managed to complete qualy pace programme on purple which i couldnt do before even on green. In qualifying im in Q3 right now as we speak. So yeah, expert is way to easy and legend is way harder than last year. I dont know what to race on now. I dont want to fight for points in a Manor or i dont want to drive 30lap race on my own in last place either.

It seems that AI are slower on Bahrain in general so I recommend you to stick with expert for another race at least.

Yes i heard that from other people. I wont exactly know after next race cause thats China i think and im sh*t on that one. But if i get near points in China im definitely going for legend and hope i get fast enough in near future or before they fire me from Manor ;). I already feel like im a lot better in Bahrain than i was last night in Australia all thanks to this practice programmes. I got a feel for the car now and i dont spin out that much anymore like i did in Australia.

Btw im very curious what happens if you get fired in Manor. I wish someone tried that, If not i will report what happens in few races. ;)

Maybe some small tweaks. Other than that, practice, practice, practice.

No, because i dont want sliders. If i set AI exactly for my pace it will be  a challenge but i feel like i will never get better. Besides, at the end of the year, im not happy if i dont win a championship against hardest AI at some point during my 10 year career. Because then and only then i will feel like i achieved something.

Done three short races to try difficulty.

First was Astria in Renault on easy, qualified 8th and finished 3rd. I found it too easy, but I enjoyed the track and overtakes.

Second was Italy in Sauber on medium, qualified in 20th and finished 15th. This felt about right, although tge gap to the car in front was bigger than I thought. Considering it was a Manor, I expected to be closer.

Last was Europe in Toro Rosso on medium, qualified 22nd and finished 14th. Another race that felt realistic. I overtook quite a few on the opening lap and was in 13th. About two seconds from the Haas in front but made mistakes so I didn't get near enough to overtake. Passed by a car with DRS on the straight but enjoyed the race.

Need to persevere with hard but it seems just too difficult. I don't want medium to get too easy though! That happened on 2012 and I got bored

I remember back at F1 Challenge 99-02 there were sliders for Pace and Aggression going from 0 to 100. I habe noted that in their survey but I guess this is not compatible with their engine.

After thee first race I would've totally agreed with you as I finished dead last in Melbourne 1.5 seconds slower than my teammate. The other way around on Expert. In Bahrain however I qualified 15th and finished 8th. In a Renault! Surely those R&D packages can't be that big after 2 races right? Not sure what to make of that as I'm usually better on Albert Park than on Bahrain
