Tip for Codemasters` MFD

Recommended Posts

Hi Codemasters

I read about the MFD and that you are possibly going to change it. Well, as I don`t have enough buttons on my steering wheel, is there a possibility that I can map 1 key so that I can scroll across the fuel levels and tyres. Now I need 2 keys, 1 to scroll left(fuel lean) and 1 to scroll right(fuel rich). Maybe make it so that I can use the key to the right for example and still go to 'lean mix' and press another time to go back to 'fuel standard'.

Please let me know how you guys feel about it. It would help someone with a low number of wheelbuttons.

Oh, where did you read that?

Indeed I never read anything and in fact I'd rather they didn't as I find it much easier to use than the old quick menu thing they had in the old games

Also, there is no MFD in cockpit view like in the other view where you see the upshift light and speed and rpm readings. MFD in that mode is for brake bias turning and some other function that at this writing I can't recall. I guess we have to rely on the readouts from the steering wheel, but it would be nice to have the speedometer and rpm indicator in cockpit view too.  Can this be a future addition for the cockpit view?

I drive in cockpit view and the MFD has four screens. Works perfectly for me.

I'd prefer not to have the speedo thing in cockpit view, it would be plastered all over the right mirror. You don't need to know your revs, listen to the engine and shift at the beep. Please don't add this unless I can disable it.

Why would you want that? You do have you're speed on the wheel display and you're rev indicater are the LEDs on the wheel, so these options of the MFD in the cockpit view is kind of redundant.

Hm....I thought it was odd showing up on all the other view except cockpit view for me.  I tried everything in the book to try and actuate it if it were hidden somewhere. Recall that cockpit view is not the T-Cam views; there is only one cockpit view. Can you post a screen shot of it? That will be great !

Hi Thory, sounds to me like you're asking for the ability to wrap around once you get to the end of list, is that right? So if you press right to go from Standard to Rich, you want to be able to press right again to loop around to Lean?

Why is this necessary? Sometimes i double click some buttons accidentally. Therefore if im under pressure or in tough battle in middle of the race i dont have time to look on what engine mode in on. So if i double press accidentally in this case i could be in lean and be way slower wihtout really knowing why.

Yes I do!

For some people it will work, especially people that don`t have a lot of buttons to work with on their wheel. I`m sure, if they can fix it the way i suggested, they can make it optional to people, if they want the old version, or the new 1-button loop version.

Figured that's why it was left off from the view, but reading the speedometer at the steering wheel resolution is not easy. I still think it be included in the cockpit view regardless.
