F1 2016 - Can 2 players race at the same time using the 2 controllers furnished with xbox 1 without going to the internet? if so, how?

As far as I know, there's no SplitScreen- Function in F1 2016

Hadn't thought about needing split screen but it sure makes sense. Somewhere my gs got the idea a player had to win races in order to use 2 controllers.
