Practice R&D objectives needs difficulty changes

Right now, track acclimation is easy to get green, and sometime all purple, but i struggle in qualifying and tyre management tests.
I play legend, since i bought it yesterday, and i feel the balance is off here.

What do you guys think?

I agree, sometimes the lap deltas for the qualifying simulation and the tyre wear test are too high. This applies sometimes in dry conditions. In the wet the target times are a little too easy, about half a second.

When its to hard for you, play on another level. 

It has to be challenging. Please do not change!!!

You are right, things do not need to change just because it is too hard.

But this is about BALANCE. The balace between the internal difficulty in the respective overall difficulties.

If you are playing on LEGEND, every aspect should be LEGEND. It is not supposed to be legend for acclimation and ultimate for the rest of the programmes.

I agree that the tests should be difficult but not impossible. In my opinion Tyre wear test in Renault Expert PS4 is impossible atm. The other tests seem fine but im only at China

Don't change it, it needs to be challenging. And ffs the game's been out for 2 days and ofcourse you are struggling it's a complete new handling system. In a couple of weeks you'll surely be able to complete it more easily.

It's not that's it's challenging. It's impossible. Once again in career mode the AI start with all the upgrades whilst you're stuck with a car that's 1-2 seconds off your team-mates pace, make it impossible to do the tyre wear/quali runs. It was the same way in 2015 and it never got fixed. AI need to start with 0 upgrades.

I can comfortably match wehrleins lap times on legend ai but I almost always fail the tests definitely should lowere the difficulty a little

You're probably not supposed to be able to nail all the tests. Otherwise you'd just end up with a super fast upgraded car by the end of the season. If you're in a Renault, chances are you'll have to struggle there to get upgrades to work for a few seasons. It's more realistic if you fail objectives and only access about 30% of the upgrades.

Is this a serious question? Maybe others are not running and willing to use assists.

Please. Do not make it easier.

I'm on PC with T300 wheel and the tyre wear test is supremely easy to achieve.

And there in lies the difference: wheel versus pad. Make it (tyre wear tests) easier for pad users and you make it insanely easy for wheel users.

Edit: no assists other than medium TC, because it's a Manor.

Pro Career on PC in a Manor, there's not a hope in hells chance of completing the R&D tasks, and no, I'n not slow :)

Yeah, people need to be aware that the game has only just came out. Everyone is going to struggle with certain things. Lower the level of difficulty if you're struggling but don't ask for things to be easier, that's why we have lower levels of difficulty. Everything is achievable on every level you just need to nail everything, if you can't, then lower the level. You just need to have the correct amount of fuel in your car, correct tires etc. The tire wear test is fine, you just need to do a smooth non aggressive lap.

Maybe he should just get better at the game? When I got to Bahrain I was struggling with the tyre wear lap times, but then I practiced and what do you know I got faster and managed to do it.

I don't get the YouTubers sometimes. Constantly moan the game is too easy. Finally come across something challenging and moan it should be easier.

Also the difficulty is different for other teams.

For example I tried tire wear test in a torro Rosso, on legendary difficulty and I compared Id with a video I saw of tiametmarduk, who was driving a manor (I believe) on legendary difficulty...his delta time was more then 2 seconds slower then mine.

So some people will have trouble according to what team they use. I think that's why it also is hard to balance.

Its depending on the car, the difficulty, wheel/pad, and personal skill.

You are assuming that going to a higher difficulty will make the sessions more competitive, when in fact, if you have actually tried going to a higher difficulty such as legend, they are pretty much impossible, assuming you don't play with assists like the majority of people who want to drive properly do. It's too easy on expert, too hard on legend, the gap between the two difficulties is huge, this needs to be fixed.

Why are people saying just lower the difficulty? It's obviously not balanced as so many people are having problems, both in the practise sessions and actually racing the AI. 

Keep in mind this game has Ultimate AI, so Legend is not even the hardest, yet it's near impossible to be competetive. Has anyone actually played the game on Ultimate? Given how difficult Legend is I don't know why Codemasters would waste time developing an even higher difficulty whithout realising how unbalanced the existing ones are. Was this not Beta tested at all? 

Other good racing games like Assetto Corsa and even Project Cars have an AI percentage slider. There's no need to try and shove everything into specific "levels" of skill because now they need to either rebalance it which takes time, or have two difficulty levels that are ultimately useless.
