What does Near Clip Plane cam setting do?

Recommended Posts

I googled and searched some vids on this 'Near Clip Plane' and somehow I guess that it points the nearest clip (or point) that objects become visible.

But I can't seem to notice the difference in cockpit view when I adjust this setting. Can someone explain or show what this actually changes in the game pls?

Thanx!

Is it the same as draw distance on the mobile GTAs?
Does a high setting perhaps create a more narrow and farther view of the surroundings, like some sort of tunnel vision?
Codies?? Anyone??

I assume it's to do with clipping once your view starts protruding into other objects, i.e. move the camera to the extremities, i.e. as low as possible and as forward as possible, and lowest/highest FOV then you may find your view inside some parts of the car.

So this should enable you to make the car parts you're seeing invisible if you increase the value.

This is how I understand it will work if the name given to the setting is correct.

That's Field of View (FOV).

Yeah I see, this makes sense indeed together with all the general explanation I came across on near clip plane.
So it kind of sets the rendering limits of objects relative to your view setting when adjusted. And so indeed preventing (car) objects to mess up your view ... it's coming together I guess ;-)

Thanks a lot for the help m8!
