What do you think about manual Pit Limiter Button on Entry and Exit?

Recommended Posts

Hello @all,

my questions is, what do you think about manual "Pit Limiter" Button?

The new manual pit entry is very good but I would appreciate to have a "Pit Limiter" Button to automatically slow the car before the white line.

And the same on the "Pit-Exit", if possible.

I think that would be a good Patch-Option.

Regards,

Thomas

It's not the slowing down before the entry line that's the issue. It's making sure you don't speed up too much before crossing the line. This is where the pit-limiter button would come in handy.

It'll mean you can brake later, slow down to below the pit lane speed limit, engage the pit limiter and then have no worries about the throttle application.

I second this! Actually i was surprised that they still didn't implement it after announcing manual pit entry.

However, i'm not sure if they ran out of buttons on the PS4 and XBOX pads as i'm using a wheel.

Sorry guys, they won't implement an extra pit-limiter button.
As I got told in another thread they don't have any button left on the console pads :-(

Yes I agree. It is very frustrating to get penalized for running 1 km/h to fast. The AI is crashing in the back if going to slow.

This is a funny one. I think its a valid suggestion. I remember way back looking at the controller ini files on PC and there was a pit limiter option for a control input. Whats wrong with using the stick buttons? i.e. l3 r3 as long as they are only active when entering the pit lane past at a certain point, to prevent acidental presses.

That's a poor excuse from CM if true. I'm on a wheel and have plenty of extra buttons. Also, I don't even assign many of the available buttons, so others could do the same and leave one of them out and use pit limiter instead.

Maybe the Menu button can be used for this once you enter the proximity of the pitlane, since it's unusable at this stage anyway.

Imo that's a stupid excuse, they are persistent on make square and X the shift up and down buttons when they should make it R1 and L1 which leaves square available for the engineer, circle is the MFD, Triangle is there for DRS and X is completely unused

Here is what I have written about the Gamepad layout on the other thread:

I have F1-2010 a few feet away in my Games-Shelf. If I find some spare time on WE I will install it and do a quick test.
To have no more button for the Pit-Limiter is just one more Point against the console guys. I have nearly infinite Buttons on the PC!! p It's 'bout time that the PC is the lead-platform again. Codemasters should develop it mainly andf firstly for the PC, then port to the consoles.
Excuse my harsh speaking, but consoles are the main reason for the slow development in many aspects of game-design and techniques. May it graphics or physics or all the other Things what a game defines.

Lets have a look at my XBox 360 Controller (I don't own a XBox 360, just Need this Controller for GTA-V & FM6A) as I would map it:
 - LT: Throttle
 - RT: Brake
 - LB:; Shift -
 - RB: Shift +
 - Left Thumbstick, left - right: Steering
 - Left Thumbstick, up - down: Unused
 - Left Thumbstick, press: Unused
 - Right Thumbstick: Look up, right, down, left
 - Right Thumbstick, press: Pit-Limiter???!!!
 - D-Pad: Navigation for Downforce, Differential, Fuel-Strat (?), Brake-Balance, Tire-choice
 - A: Clutch (on a button, ROFL)
 - B: HUD
 - X: Talk to engineer
 - Y: PTT
 - Back: Camera
 - Start: Pause-menu

Think I found possible button for the Pit-Limiter B

Hehe... sucks for you
If you can't beat them, join them. Get a console and have fun with the games that are optimized for the platform, rather than trying to fiddle with your PC and whining

The pit lane entry thing is good but definitely needs a bit of polish. Braking too early/speeding up/braking/accelerating/braking is silly and doesn't feel realistic...

Something needed whereby you brake to the correct speed which it automatically keeps you at, or you apply the brakes before the line and say get to within 20mph of the limit and the game takes over for the few metres before the line and gets you down to the limit smoothly maybe

we wouldn't be able to use it because we are not allowed to have control of the car in pit lane.

Hi,

I know that. I do not mean into the pit lane. I meant before and after the pit lane to release the pit limiter, like in project cars as example.

Thomas

That's why the DRS button would be good as it would be in a point when DRS would not be activated. Like how they did manual starts.
