DiRT Rally 2 - Expectations

Recommended Posts

Some use of the earned credits. Now it us useless once you've bought all cars. The mechanics who support the car is cheap.

Personally I am quite happy the way it is apart from the Escort Mk2, if they give us a period Boreham / Sutton Group 4 RS 1800 with a BDG on Webbers and spot on sound, I will be well satisfied.  Maybe a couple more long UK stages,  Keilder & Grisdale would be nice.

As for the name, how about "CM Rally 2. Stage Fright"

Agree with most of the above

Oh, and....
Don't call it Dirt, take it back to the oldskool :)
I personally disagree with you there: calling it "Colin McRae Rally" would be wrong in my opinion. McRae obviously had no input and, to me, using his name would seem like a cheap cash in.
What about "Protégé" ?

A story of a young, ginger mechanical engineer from dungannon, with a dream of becoming a World Rally Champion, starting out in a sport his father had years of success building cars for.  Replicate his career through the early days in local rally's in the P106 Cup, where he is discovered and backed by the late Colin McRae, to run campaigns in JWRC in the Open Corsa and then IRC with Peugeot before cracking the WRC in the DS3 and C3 WRC?

lol

Things have moved on quite a bit computing-wise since the previously mentioned Richard Burns Rally, yet...I've not seen a CM game with *that* quality of tutorial you start with. Show, then tell, then do works quite well.

Other than that, I only urge CM to do their utmost to get the license for Skoda-branded cars. Some darn fine cars in their lineup, which sadly never see the light of day.

I'd like to see more diversity in cars.
Toyota Celica ST185, ST205
Subaru Impreza. 2003-2007, Blob and Hawkeye, not only the Bug
Mitsubishi Evo. 4,6,7/8/9,10 , gotta collect em' all
Newer WRC's - 2017 Yaris maybe? 2015 spec cars

Stages:
I don't really know much about Rally Stages, but also here, more, more, more.

Import the content of Dirt Rally, rework it and we have a wide variety on stuff to do.

Something very important and immersive for me personally:

PvP Rally: Like in DiRT 3, being able to physically overtake other cars on a stage, just like in real life (altough it doesnt happen that often, at least in wrc)
Random failures, sometimes bad luck strikes, huh?

Head to Head Stages

Also just like in DiRT 3 (think they're called Super Special Stages...) 2 Cars start simultaneously, will switch lanes during the race.

Another thing, not quite necessary:

Like in Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo (never played it myself):

Something parking lot like to hoon around. Maybe in cooperation with a Gymkhana mode?
I just want to take place in my Subaru Impreza and hoon around a bit, not following a stage or anything...

This would be my suggestions, quite demanding, but who knows...

Another alternative would be to just continue to improve DiRT Rally, give it more content, improve handling and so on.. (Probs. not possible tough)

Does anyone know if there will ever be a DiRT Rally 2...or is the just now announced release of DiRT 4 as their direction.

DiRT Rally 2 is essential, in my humble opinion.

I will give it the benefit of the doubt when it comes out but when I read stuff like "the crazy battles of racing trucks and buggies, and the outrageous fun of open events in Joyride" sorry, but ..... I'M OUT !
