Codemasters, PLEASE give us the pit limiter button!

Recommended Posts

As the title says, i hope that Codemasters will make the pit limiter button available in some future patch.
I think that the issue is that console controllers have not enouth buttons for that, but the possible solution would be to map pit limiter button to, lets say, the pit menue button. So that on track the pit menue button is active, but in pit lane it switches to pit limiter.

It could be assigned to the DRS button as a secondary function ,as you'd never have to open DRS when driving in the pit lane. Would be nice if it could be added, I often find myself slowing down enough for the pit line just a bit early, then I slightly tap the throttle and get the speeding penalty anyway. If you'd have the limiter button you could press it right after you slowed down enough so you stay under the speed limit and don't have to brake twice if you're too early.

why exactly?  The game will allways take controll at the line because we are not allowed to just cannon ball into pit lane at any speed we choose without the game halting our speed. The game has to take control exactly when we need to push the button.

We do need a pit limiter button. It's annoying getting the braking just right only to get hit with a penalty. It's instinctive to hit the gas once you activate the pit limiter just before crossing the line just like on the real cars with pit limiters and in most sims.

With pit assist off, you need to be able to go under the pit speed limit BEFORE you hit the line. Doing this with the pedal is much harder than with the pit limiter, which, of course, is what the real drivers use. In its current state you could argue that this is one aspect of F1 2016 that is actually harder than the real world thing.

This idea is brilliant.

Put on pit-assist...
I dont want limiter, in league race everyone should try to find the optimum breaking point...

They should probably give us manual responsibility for pitting- like in 2010, if you  push the button to late the stop takes some seconds longer- you  drive more or less over the pit-guy in the front of the car ;)

....but  you have on lot of tracks drs zone directly at the pit lane..

That's completely irrelevant, it's still not hard at all to brake before the line, I've not gotten a speeding violation yet

It's not needed at all just get the braking right it's not that hard
You clearly don't understand the problem. In real sims like rFactor 2, which have a pit limiter - like actual cars do - you activate the limiter and brake til you're under the speed limit. Then you press the throttle again, and it doesn't go back over the speed limit. In F1 2016, you do.

Go read up a bit on speed limiters in F1 - it's an interesting concept, and it's there for a reason - and it's also under the driver's control for a reason.
