Do you need to return tyres after 40 minutes of P1

Recommended Posts

I haven't yet completed a full P1 session, but I was wondering whether the game simulates the real life rules where you have to hand back a set of tyres 40 minutes into Practice 1.

Yes, when you finish your P session you will return to the your laptop and you will see a notification one the left side of your screen that you have returned a set of tires.

You don't have to do enything. The game does it itself, and as far as I know it will return the most worn tire.

@Nickname85 Thanks for the reply - I wasn't talking about the end of the session, I was talking about mid session (40 minutes in) - in real life, teams must return 1 set of tyres, and I was wondering whether the game implemented this. Sadly, it sounds like it doesn't.

Ow sorry, haha wasn't aware of the exact time mark (didn't know this rule).

I haven't notice it.
I have played a lot of 100% P sessions so I'm afraid not.

@Nickname85 No need to apologise, I was just curious. I only spotted the rule a few minutes ago and wanted to know whether it was in the game

Nope FP1 is handled just like the other two sessions, return two most worn sets at the end of the session. No 40min rule in the game.

Just a thought, you can still run this rule yourself, and police it. You will always give 2 tyres back at the end of FP1, so simply use one of them for the first 40 mins, and make sure you are in the pits to change after the 40mins. It will give you immersion, though obviously the AI won't do it, and you won't get the lull in track action at the 40 mins mark like you do in real life.
