Which assists do you use?

Recommended Posts

Hello.
I was reading the forums, and someone was talking about the assists he uses, and I would like to know, which assists do you use?
I think I use too much.
I use full traction control, ABS, racing line in corners. I don't use automatic transmission (manual with recommended gear), Pit assist and brake assist.
So, I would like to see what do you use.
Greets.

Medium TCS. Because I don't have either the time, nor the patience to learn all the tracks without it lol. I only use it because the late torque band drives me insane.

I use TCS because I go out in every corner (and in straights too) without it, so, until I can drive better I'll use it.

Only Medium TC. I'm on a controller and was playing all the F1 games until 2015 with assists. After watching severl videos on youtube was sort of inspired to play without/minimum assists.

I used to race with all assist. But since f1 2016 i have them all off now. :)
It is hard at the beginning but it is so much more rewarding.

play the game how you enjoy it, but if you guys are using traction control all the time then your never going to find out how to set the car up in a way that allows you to turn it off. The biggest chunk of your car setup options( putting the power down), a huge part of making the car faster than default, is just thrown out the window

Medium TCS, automatic transmission, and full ABS braking.

How much could I improve my times if I switch my gears manually? What about ABS: is it incredibly hard to out-perform it with human reaction times?

I use only pit assist. Wish there would be full player control in pits like in rFactor1/2 or at least a pit limiter button, then i would race without any assist (i hate assists  )

None, I never used them since F1 2010, but used TC and ABS sometimes on F1 2014 an 2015, so I was more competitive online. However, I dont need to worry about that now, because career mode is back - so assists are all off for me :)

How can you get better at driving with TCS off when you never take it off?
Yeah you can race all you want at 1 race track, and get better at handling etc., but then you'll fail on other tracks due to lack of practice.
It's the same with assists. If you never take them off, you'll never get better driving without them.

I use only medium traction control and automatic gear box. I don't feel comfortable using manual gears

All assist on, except brakes.
First touch to racing games and controllers. I've tried TC medium and ABS off, but can't keep the same pace; manual gears double the difficulty for me. If I had a wheel it'll be another story I guess.
That's it, cheers.

Only breaks off and drive line thing off totally. I would like to go tc off and manually but too hard on controller. Also manual start and pit assist off.

No assist, no line and cockpit view - wheel - overachieve on Expert but not consistent enough for legend.

I use the racing line and auto gears. Just cannot get used to gears on a pad.
It isn't so difficult, I play with manual gears on a pad, and when you play a few races, it's easy. The bad thing is that if you want to talk Jeff about his new strategy of going to the pit on the last lap to switch to wet tyres in a dry track, maybe it's a bit difficult to switch gears.

I think when I get my wheel I'll turn some assists off if it's easier than a pad.
