More upgrades

Recommended Posts

codemasters have done a great job on this game but I can't help but feel by the end of my 3rd season I'm going to have run out of things to upgrade on my car so is there a chance of more being added in sometime in the future or will we have to sit until 2017 for any chance of more ???

I think it's because you complete practice targets in every race? Which means you need to go up a level maybe ?

It's not that we need more updates, the problem is that we earn R&D points too quickly. I'm mid way through season 1 with Toro Rosso and I'm already level with Red Bull and Ferrari, I'm playing on legend.

I've started to not spend my R&D to actually have the other teams catch up because I'm finding it too un realistic, now the team are moaning at me because I'm not using my points  :D

Hill0 I'm running in legend at the moment and ultimate it too hard for me so I can't do that but I think they need to be more expensive like 1000 for each upgrade going up by 500 or so each time

They could add some other upgrade areas.
Clutch - Allows you to find the bitepoint more easily and get better starts
Pit stops - Increases speed and less mistakes on pit lane.
Brakes - Increases braking capacity and reduction of failures

Not a bad idea. Although the manual starts are easy enough already.

It would allow your teammate to get better starts as well.

I'm on my second season now and in started saving for upgrades from Singapore. I didn't realise the upgrades didn't reset and I've now only got 7 more upgrades to get in 9 seasons... surely all the cars will just get back to 2016 once all the other teams have fully upgraded

Run the practise tests without the meters youll earn less points :)
How can we turn them off?
On the pause menu on graphic options :)
I think he meant the actual name of the setting.

Agreed. Surely this is a huge issue. Once you've fully upgraded all the other teams will slowly catch you up, and once they do everyone will be back to their original positions. Or worse, every team's bar will be full and the teams will perform exactly the same. Can someone simulate a few seasons to find out, or maybe someone from Codies could clarify?

If each team's bar is exactly the same meaning they're all of the same performance, the cars will be fast and equal making for exciting racing.

True, but not exactly realistic. The field wouldn't be very spread out. The progress bars or the upgrade options HAVE to reset at some point, otherwise there's no need to do R&D tests after about season 2 or 3 of a 10 year career.

Going to need a thread on improvments/updates/ideas? Heh :)
Because this is pretty good to add for the R&D

Well i dont get many resource points, its not getting really fast.
i do 50% career with mclaren( no assist no flashback ), the practice programs i run i do without the training things on screen.
i do the run i need to do, afterwards when iam back in my garage i see the results.
My average points for the 3 i would say are about 30 each.
iam okay with that. And iam in mexico now and iam the fifth team now. I did save my points for next season.
