G27 Not showing up.

Recommended Posts

Hey,

So to start with I had an issue where the game was detecting a different wheel. I fixed that issue but now the game does not recognise that my wheel is plugged in.
Logitech profiler sees my wheel but Device Manager does not
However it works in PCars

I've had problems with weird g27 recognition before (not with this game) and it turned out there was an error with the driver installation, something broke.

try uninstalling the profiler ( I would say uninstall and delete the driver in device manager if it was actually showing up - it might be under "universal serial buss controllers" if it's not recognized by windows as a input device).

Restart windows and install profiler, only plugging in the wheel when the setup asks.

This fixed it

  1. Disconnect the Gaming wheel from your computer.
  2. Download and save WheelDriverCleaner.exe http://chilp.it/c09316a  to your desktop.
  3. Run the cleaner tool by double clicking the file from your desktop.
  4. Close the cleaner tool dialog box.
  5. Reconnect your Gaming wheel to your computer.

Common problem I have with my G27 is when first booting PC, it will lose the driver and install an "unknown device" in its place. You have to unplug the wheel's USB, uninstall that unknown driver in Windows device manager and then plug your wheel back in. Happens to me once in a while.

I have to say I never have problems with my wheel, it only happened once in the past.

I think it has to do with the fact that I don't keep it plugged in unless I'm using it, so the pc never boots up with it plugged in (it's also would annoyingly recalibrate every time I turn the pc on or wake from stand-by, which is why I unplug it).
