Traction control off

Recommended Posts

Can someone explain to me how it's possible to be quicker with TC off? I've never mastered it, and the brief tries I've had in 2016 have been disastrous.

Is it really worth putting the effort in to master? Is it really any quicker than TC on medium or is it more the feeling of satisfaction?

Using a wheel BTW

It's all about practice  ;)

i wouldn't say it's faster without tc, if you are fast without tc, you will be always faster with tc on.

But it feels much better if you can handle driving without tc imo. So yeah, it's all about satisfaction and getting as close to real drivers as possible.

I disagree,,, do a million laps of a track without tc on, and you`ll feel bogged down with it on.  Its the reason the fastest times on TT are faster.  (or were, not checked post patch)

p.s. may not need a million if you are good :)

If you are on pad I would wait until this patch plays out before worring about this. According to the PS4 players after downloading this patch traction control doesn't turn off fully even tho assist says its off.

their are some very important things to keep in mind when using no traction control. The biggest thing is to have the steering setting correct. A jerky steering control can take all the fun out of not using traction control and make it seem harder than it is. You cant have a car that has the effect of the slightest movement turns the car. That will make any wheels spin you do get jerk the car around from the steering wheel never being straight. Its also important to note the condition of the car when your trying to learn. Jumping into a car to practice with low fuel weight and hard tire is going to make it seem harder than it is going to be during the race with a lot of full weight and soft grippy tires. You on throttle diff slider setting helps a lot to along with your rear toe settings
