F1 2013 Wheel Problem

Recommended Posts

First off, this issue only exists with the Codemasters game F1 2013. I understand the G29 came out AFTER the game's release and is not officially supported by the game. HOWEVER...

Yesterday I received my G29 in the mail and immediately set it up on my PC. The first game I  fired up was F1 2013 which at first was set to use keyboard controls. I navigated to the control settings and the game had recognized my G29 wheel as another logitech wheel (the Logitech Formula Force EX/RX I THINK, not sure). I didn't really care and jumped into the game where the wheel worked fine and had no problems.

I don't know if this is important but I should mention that AFTER I finished playing F1 2013 I installed the Logitech Gaming Software to enable the force feedback and then went on to play Assetto Corsa.

The next day I went to play some more F1 2013 but the game will NOT recognize that there's a wheel plugged in. The only two options for controls are "keyboard" and "custom." No matter what I do, reinstalling the drivers, switching the wheel to PS3/PS4 mode, running the game as administrator, exiting the Logitech Gaming Software before launching the game, etc.. the game will not register a wheel like the first time.

Ok, whatever. I'll use the game's "Override input device type" setting for wheels. The only problem is when I go to set custom controls to turn left/right, I have to turn the wheel more than 90 degrees for it to register that the wheel is turning. In game, this translates to having to rotate the wheel more than 90 degrees in any direction to make the car do even the slightest of turns. Obviously this is unplayable.

I'd like to be able to "trick" (I guess trick?) the game once again into thinking the G29 is a different wheel that it recognizes or fix this rubbish custom control problem where the initial 90 degrees of turning either left or right is simply dead.

Thanks in advance for any replies.
