F1 2016 Timing incorrect/glitch

Recommended Posts

Trust me when i say this, it is not an issue on my end. I have played with a wheel, with no assists F1 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015. Now i am playing this and i guarantee the timing is wrong. I am unable to get a lap time in melbourne AUS, that is sub 1:30's/barely 1:29s unless i put on super softs and turn engine up and even then its a struggle to post lap times in 1:28's. not only that but ive tried all top teams and with assists on! It still is unable to get within 2-3 seconds of any team mate?! is anyone else having this problem? (PS. save the comments regarding my skill level etc. Ive played 100s of hours, i love racing games and guarantee it has nothing to do with my skill level).

Also, what is the theoretical best time? what is that based off of? my theoretical best time is always 3-4 seconds faster than any time im able to get. what is up with that?
(also, yes ive tried every and any set up under the sun, for all top teams). Something just isnt right.

Help codies, i was really keen on this game but this is ridiculous.

The game seems to be working for everyone else in terms of timing, so I don't think it sounds like there is anything to fix.  What difficulty are you playing on?  Maybe turn it down until you get used to the game?  There are a few people I know who used to be quick on the previous versions of the game but now struggling with pace, it's not a timing issue for them, just time needed to get used to the new handling...

If you think it's the game, maybe try deleting your game data and reinstall the game from scratch, it could help?  If there was an issue as you're describing there would be a lot of people complaining, so it sounds like it is your end, either you're not as quick as you think or there's a problem with the install...

Thanks for the reply guys. Back to drawing board I guess. Not even with full assists I'm getting close tho...hmmm

@Hulk The theoretical best time is the fastest/purple sectors combined from all drivers in that session to show what's ideally possible. For finding pace, have you tried doing TT for a while to get up to speed before starting the GP weekend and trying different setups etc? It can be very helpful especially with the new on-track telemetry so you can see rivals lines and braking points.

@V12Legendary @DauntingConch
Thanks for reply guys. Check out my thread where i posted a video of me doing two laps. I know they aint perfect but i know they're not bad either. I don't know where 2 seconds are hiding in that lap. You guys seem to have an idea so any feedback would be great!

i know breaking assist and ABS can actually slow you down especially with automatic gear box so i generally avoid them. but i tried it all just in case

NEVER BRAKING ASSIST

You get the occasional guy in an online lobby with it and there's just a trail of broken end plates and wings behind him  :D

@kevinkirk. did you calibrate the timer? / joking.
you could get an egg timer and check it on any lap.

Yeah I timed it. I've posted a video and am getting pointers. It's interesting how the faster times are all on pads opposed to wheels. Thought it'd be opposite for sure

Speaking of times. On spa in practice 1 I was top with 1:56.874 up until last minute  when kvyat did 1:26.511. Now either this is the greatest  time ever or its supposed  to be 1:56.511.

quantum dilation, what altitude are you (orbit or something?) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravitational_time_dilation
though that would only account for nanoseconds  - uber legend level.

No i figured out what was wrong. It was technical issue on wheel.
