achromatopsia 0 Posted September 22, 2016 I just had the worst race at Baku today. Never seen so many bugs in a single session (and I've been playing Codemasters' F1 games since 2010). F1 2016 has been really great for me until now...This was on Xbox (patch 1.5), AI on Legend. I'm driving for Renault on Palmer's seat. Let me enumerate...1) A good amount of AI cars hit the wall on turn 19, and the safety car would never be called. This is Massa crashing and the flags instantly turning green.http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/achromatopsia/video/21755664Hamilton crashed on the same wall later in the race. SC was not called again. http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/achromatopsia/video/21755735Raikkonen crashed on turn 8 while overtaking a Manor. No SC.3) At one point, Button was in the main straight, just after turn 20, going slow because of a puncture. Hamilton didn't slow down and hit him in the back, retiring from the race. Then, Bottas crashed into him. Safety car was not called. I used a flashback to get Hamilton back into the race. (later he would crash on turn 19, as in the second video, but flashback didn't help)http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/achromatopsia/video/21755757 4) When I used the flashback to get Hamilton back into the race, I almost crashed into Grosjean and slid off; the Safety Car was called. I thought it had been called because of Hamilton's collision with Button and Bottas, but that was not the case. When I used the flashback again to correct my mistake, no SC was called. Intrigued, I used it again, only to learn it was related to my track position. Could it be a coincidence?http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/achromatopsia/video/217557965) Hamilton would never go past a backmarker. This went on for a couple of laps until the Force India got past them. (Then Hamilton crashed on turn 19) http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/achromatopsia/video/21755808 and http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/achromatopsia/video/217557326) AI would never go past me on the main straight. Every time they got close, they would just reduce speed, with DRS or not.http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/achromatopsia/video/217559797) (Same video as above) So I finished the race in 2nd, right? Wrong! When I crossed the line, I was 4th. Upon looking at the Race Director screen, I received a stop-and-go penalty. This was when I was reversing on turn 3 because Magnussen crashed into me... I used a flashback to revert the penalty (as it was while cars where ghosted - a complete mess) and I'm sure I got back before the penalty. I was never notified and never served it. There is no penalty being shown in the race results as well. It was an incident on lap 19. Later on the race, while resuming after the third safety car, Grosjean's engine failed and I hit him on the side, damaging my front wing. Used a flashback to a moment before the collision, but the warning was still shown on the Race Director screen.8) AI was just too aggressive on turns 3 and 8, constantly hitting the walls. This caused the collision I mentioned above. I gave Magnussen enough space on turn 3, but he hit the inside wall with his rear wheel and forced me into the wall on the other side.http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/achromatopsia/video/217561109) Safety car was called three times during the race. When the race was resumed, AI was too slow to get up to speed again. I made 10 positions back just on the main straight under the green flag, twice.10) Just eleven cars finished the race. I didn't cause any terminal damage to AI. It was all on their own. Both Red Bulls and one Haas had engine failures, but those were the only mechanical failures11) Manor was too strong. I took the practice sessions on patch 1.4. Qually was on patch 1.5. Manor advanced to Q3 and got 7th and 10th places. During the race, they were on par with Red Bull. In the performance rating on my career, they are just slightly stronger than Haas, Force India and Sauber. In patch 1.4, I intentionally caused a crash in Catalunya to force the safety car to come (as the patch notes mentioned that the frequency had been adjusted). It was raining, and the car I crashed into was sitting in the middle of the track. About 5 cars hit it, never slowing down, and had terminal damage. SC was not called. It's really hard to understand why a car stopped on track would just disappear and not bring the SC out, while a car retiring due to an engine failure, on the side of the track causes an yellow flag and SC to be called.
