Why do literally all the fast drivers in F1 2016 use the t-bar cam view and not the cockpit view which is seen in sim racing as the hard core view in most other sims? Just curious not taking anything away from the times that ha e been set.

Yeah was thinking the same thing. I'm yet to see a single video on YouTube of anyone using cockpit view/no assists + wheel to get a top time it's always T-cam + pad...
Then you have those that do use a wheel but then race in T-cam lol.
For the life of me I can't understand why you'd get a wheel and then race in T-cam view, it kinda defeats the point of having a wheel in the first place for me anyways.

What do you do with the setup to get that much turn in particularly in s3 because that where I lose ALL of my time.
The most important thing is the weight distribution ballast set to 11 iirc.

For me personally its because I just dislike cockpit view on F1 2016. Whenever I play Assetto Corsa or iRacing, its cockpit all the way I agree. But CM's cockpits just aren't very good to me. For example, Assetto's F1 car cockpits are great as it has tons of detail on the steering wheel but you get almost nothing on F1 2016. So its just preference.

Hey, if that is true that in mclaren you are doing in the 1:25's then, can you post it so we can all get tips from your driving? thanks
@Hulk I thought this would be a fun challenge to try so I gave it a shot and managed a 1:25.7 with the Mclaren in TT and I thought I'd share the vid with you. This is still not a perfect lap by any means, I took too much kerb in some corners and had a couple of small oversteer moments. I'm sure the fastest guys at the moment should be able to go even a second faster, considering I'm about 1.4 seconds off my own Merc time, the theoretical fastest time with a Mclaren here could be in the 1:24's even. So yeah, this is not at all intended to 'show off' or something as there's a lot of time to still be found, but I just wanted to show that it's possible for sure.

Just not a fan of the cockpit cam on this game and as a league racer I find it's better to be using the t cam as you can see what's around you better. On PCARS and other racing games I drive cockpit though

@Bcolt93 and @SentryAlpha
What specifically can you see in other games that you can't see in this one?

Thanks

@JensonBottom
Question - what wheel do you use and what is the setup you use for it?
During the video there was you didn't seem to have many moments of extreme wheel input
Thanks

tbh it doesn't feel authentic and imo unenjoyable compared to the satisfying Tcam

Cool thanks for that. Although time trial is all of the specs maximized and I think there's a generalized standardized performance across different cars. Ie. Worse cars perform better in TT. So you can post quick times in a manor really. But I discovered the problem. Was the wheel calibration :/ but I'd be interested what a career lap time in mclaren would be. But thanks for posting!
