Unable to race after mid-session save

Recommended Posts

I was playing career mode, when I had made a mid-session save and was trying to load that one (I was in the race while trying to load the mid-session save). I was able to, but I couldn't  press triangle/flashback because I have flashbacks turned off. So I tried save & exit, but when I went back into the career, I'd get a green-coloured "please wait" notification on the top left, then "loading" and then I'd feel my controller vibrate. After that the screen stays black the entire time. Nothing wrong with my screen, because it's a crash by the game. I can hear the usual going-through-menus-sound when I use buttons on the D-pad, but nothing else. My guess is that I can only fix this myself by starting a new career mode, but that I don't want to do. I've tried anything from removing the disk to restarting my PS4,but there doesn't seem to be anything that fixes the problem. Any help and fixes so my career mode can be saved would be incredible, thanks.

That's the problem I had and unfortunately I had to restart my career but I am on xbox so maybe @Lozzy will be able to help as you are on PS4

This does make me notice, though, that we have such little options when something like this happens. Why can't we select if we want to load a mid-session save - or restart the session - before arriving on track? I think you, Codies, should add an overview where we can select a date or session we want to go to, so if you don't want to do practice you can jump straight to saturday quali. Please do let us know if it's at all possible to add to 2016, or perhaps an idea for 2017?

Hi sebasdenb, before trying this please backup your whole save game.

If you go to the save data manager on the PS4 dashboard you can delete the Mid Session Save and start the session again to work around this problem. Please be careful and do not delete your whole F1 2016 save though!

I'm glad to hear that sebasdenb, I am sorry that it was broken in the first place though. Enjoy the rest of your Career :).
