Career mode too "rainy"

Recommended Posts

I've had 11 races thus far in career mode, and in 4 of them (more than a third) there was rain. This has to change. If I'm not mistaken, in 16 races in F1 this year in real life, only one of them (Silverstone) happened under rainy conditions.

Yeah the dynamic weather is a bit flighty with following the season, obviously the patch updates I would think address this as the Devs wouldn't be able to predict the weather before the race actual weekend.

I dont mind it though, has mixed it up a bit. Don't understand though how it can be pouring and the preferred tire is the inter, that's a bit odd

It's random luck. I've had a season with 7 rainy races, 5 of which were in a row at the end of the season. Then I've also had a season with 2 rainy races, both were at the start of the season.

Personally the thing that bugs me is the full wet tyre being absolutely useless. I know it's kinda like it in real life since they only drive with it under the safety car and when that ends they usually pit immeadetly for inters. It just still feels unfair to be slower in heavy rain conditions with full wets. I had a scenario at Spa once where I had a decent lead in light rain conditions on inters. Then it said 5 minutes until heavy rain and the SC came out because of a crash. On the lap the SC came out I reacted with a switch to full wets as by the time I was in the pitlane the heavy rain started and I thought it would be really wet when the SC goes in. And of course it takes a long time to complete a lap at Spa behind the SC so it had been heavy rain for at least 10 minutes when the SC left.

First I got screwed over a bit because the pitstop only cost me one place as Rosberg took the lead and I still managed to stay ahead of Hamilton. But when Rosberg reached the SC which was parked waiting for the leader, it didn't move and then Rosberg parked as well and ghosted and I first tried to drive past his ghost and got a penalty, so then I flashbacked and the same thing happened and this time I didn't pass Rosberg but Hamilton passed us both without a penalty.

Not a single AI car switched to full wets and when we started racing again there was no dry line, but still the inters were so much quicker. There was 4 laps after the SC in heavy rain conditions and the rain was definitely not easing off but still the full wets remained clearly the slower tyre even on the last lap, I almost lost the third place as well.

So what purpouse are the full wets for? Similar things have happened to me previously and I've decided to not use them ever again in the race unless the race starts in full wet conditions and all the cars have them. In qualy somehow are quicker but not in the race.

Agreed. Almost every single race there's at least 1 wet or partially wet session. Even though I really love the new handling model in the rain I would prefer more realism in how often it rains in F1.
