Assists on Controller

Recommended Posts

Just a quick question about assists while playing on a controller,
My last F1 game was 2013 and I had started using manual braking before I stopped playing it. This year I've gone back to all assists until I got my eye in again. I want to gradually reduce them , but my question is does running no assists work well with a controller? In my experience it's not great. Now, it could just be me, I'm not a great driver by any means, but something just doesn't click with me when I'm running no assists. Have you guys any tips or ideas?

Limitless (youtube) has a little series of how to learn to play without assists with a controller (as he does). I play a controller myself and I have no problem without assists but I can imagine it could be more difficult for others.

Playing without assists using the controller is fine.  I play only racing games on Xbox One and play all of them without assists and it works just fine.  With a game like F1 2016 you would want to acclimate yourself and skills with the way a real F1 driver manages out there by using no assist whatsoever. Yeah, it takes some getting used and is even harder, but stick with it and practice, practice, practice and you'll be up an running in no time at all.

It doesn't click with you because you're not used to it. I'd say 99% of the population are like that when doing things they haven't done before. Just keep trying, honestly, I can't imagine playing the game with any assist on (especially gears. Once you go manual, you'll never go back).
