doyley101 0 Posted July 31, 2014 I'm teetering on the edge of ordering GAS but I will only do so if it plays well with a wheel. Also if you any other general pros and cons on the game it would be nice to hear as I'm trying to pick between this and GT6 to tide my over to when the PS4 actually gets some racing games.PS: does GAS support 900° rotation on PS3 or is it locked to 180° like DiRT 3? V8R3L3NTL3SS1 0 Posted July 31, 2014 I'm not sure about the rotation of the wheel but there are plenty of wheel users on here . I think a wheel with all assists off besides abs are what will make all the difference in speed.
Higgi91 0 Posted July 31, 2014 I use wheel (G27) but turn the rotation in the Windows profiler down to 220 degrees, this allows fast/more arcadey handling but still a lot lot more control than the Joypad.EDIT: Yes it does allow the full 900 but it feels really slow (hence above, 200 degrees)
BobA1001 0 Posted July 31, 2014 I vote for a wheel. If you want more of a simulator game, get GT6, lean more towards arcade, GAS. On another note to consider...GT6 promised a lot more then they delivered as a whole package of a game, 8 months later, they still have not followed through. GAS has the corruption issue and we are still waiting to see if/when it shall be resolved.
doyley101 0 Posted July 31, 2014 Yeah I ordered GAS because I'm not prepared to put the 100+ hour grind in to GT6 to unlock the fun cars when I can get the quick adrenelin fix of Grid with proper sounds and AI to boot.
scottishwildcat 188 Posted July 31, 2014 GAS plays as well with my Fanatec CSR on Xbox as any Codies game does (apart from Grid 2, which was pretty useless thanks to the physics). You certainly don’t get the same range of force feedback that you do from a proper sim or even a Forza game, but with a bit of tweaking it certainly adds to the immersion. likewise 19 Posted July 31, 2014 I use a wheel on the PS3 and it works great, it took a little while to make it "feel" right for me. Received Platinum in all the Racenet challenges last week and have three under my belt this time so the wheel can definitely keep pace.
Awong124 0 Posted July 31, 2014 It supports 900 degree rotation, but I don't like the way it feels so I turned it off.
888197 0 Posted July 31, 2014 I'm loving my wheel and couldn't imagine me going back to a controller. I find you can drive the car with more control.
mikevoltz1 0 Posted July 31, 2014 I use a Fanatec CSR Forza Wheel @360' rotation, it feels pretty good. I've tweaked the spring and dampening to get it to work pretty well with every discipline except drift.
Avenga76 0 Posted August 1, 2014 I use 220 for open wheelers and 400 for everything else on my CSW
Turdhat 0 Posted August 1, 2014 360 for open wheel and 420 for everything else. On Fanatec wheels 420 always seems to be best for codemasters titles from Dirt 1 to Grid AS.
mikevoltz1 0 Posted August 2, 2014 Hmm I'll have to try that. I've been running 360 with everything. Except Drift.. I can't do drift with my wheel, I can barely do it with a controller, LoL.
